After a little over two years of wasted time participating in family counseling with Joe Woodard, I came out of my sessions with more unresolved issues than i went in with. He likes to talk about authenticity but could never give me a straight answer to any important questions that i had. He never took notes nor remembered anything from previous sessions and resisted when I asked to be referred to another specialist for further evaluation. He was manipulative when I told him that I wanted to see another specialist first before continuing my sessions with him stating that my reserved hour could fill up quick if i didnt commit to futher analysis with him and now that I have had a billing question which his billing department told me to contact him directly, he is ignoring my phone calls. I would not waste time or money seeing him, better to find another therapist with more experience who is more vested in your personal growth.

`This is very hard to review, because James is big on building trust from what he say's, but doesn't know how to do couple counseling and how to build trust with each person along with when two people are wanting opposite things lying has been often the case I have seen not trying to negotiate to help make the counseling process smoother and that the goal can be achieved. To where it becomes more what James wants, not what the client is asking. Honestly I will be thinking 3-4x's after this about seeing a Christian Counselor if they don't know how to resolve something as simple as asking the other person if what is being asked is okay with them or how to go about satisfying both people especially when it was said time and time again I was not okay with secrets kept between both party's and James fought me on this on every level and still thinks that is building trust. Honestly this is something that only negligence would be a good word to describe it especially when lying never bought anyone's trust when it was easy to see along with its an insult to think I would fall for it when there was so many tells of him lying. he said this is so confusing.......building trust its not confusing......its easy you tell the truth and don't stonewall the process along with not falling asleep
