A and J Behavioral Health

We took our 4-year-old to A & J Behavioral Health Services in Livingston for an evaluation. While they explained they couldn’t provide services without a diagnosis—which we understood—we asked for a written summary of the evaluation and the doctor’s recommendations. That was four months ago, and despite multiple emails and phone calls, we have yet to receive anything. Every time we follow up, we’re given excuses or the runaround. The office itself feels unprofessional and even sketchy. The evaluation process felt rushed and not very thorough, leaving us questioning whether it was done properly at all. What makes this even more disappointing is how much paperwork they require from parents before an appointment—yet when families need something as basic as documentation about their child, they completely ignore the request. This is unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. Families seek out places like this for guidance and support, and instead we’ve been met with months of silence and poor treatment. I will continue to speak out against organizations that claim to advocate for children and families but fail to show professionalism, accountability, or respect for the very people they are supposed to serve.

Horrible and very useless office staff. Not willing to help and has no concern empathy for patient. Office staff would not confirm insurance. Even though insurance company stated the doctor was covered. She chose to call the Magellan pharmacy number on our Insurance card and not United Healthcare. Out right REFUSED and stated I can’t help you. In a way this saved me a headache over time. When you are dealing with your child and their well being, this is not the additional stress you want to deal with.
