Ability Builders For Children, LLC

My experience with ABC Kids has been more negative than positive. I contacted this agency for Early Intervention (EI) services in February, and by March my child was approved for an evaluation. However, nobody called or emailed me. I had to follow up myself, only to find out that my application had been approved for an entire month, but no one had taken the initiative to notify me. It turned out that my old phone number was still on file, and the staff member who processed my new application never checked for updated information. When I finally spoke with the assigned coordinator, she told me she have send me a certified information package—which I never received. Overall, my experience with the coordinators has been extremely frustrating. I ended up switching coordinators because I felt like I constantly had to stay on top of my son’s case just to see any progress. This process is already lengthy, and if parents aren’t persistent, I believe a whole year could pass without a child receiving services. I began the meetings and paperwork in April, but my son didn’t start in-person services until July—three months later. Unfortunately, my new coordinator hasn’t been much better. She often leaves my messages on read, ignores my questions, and sometimes a whole week passes without any reply. The lack of communication from coordinators here is unacceptable. That said, the actual services themselves have been good. But that’s not because of the coordinator’s effort—I personally found all of my son’s providers, including his OT, SI, and speech therapist. The coordinator only handled the paperwork. As a parent—especially now that my son has been diagnosed with autism—I cannot stress enough the importance of persistence. Always advocate for your child. Without your involvement, things will not move forward.

It was clear she truly cared and took the time to make my child feel comfortable and supported. Their ability to connect with children is incredible and she’s goes above and beyond to make sure my child was understood and cared for I couldn’t have asked for a better experience truly the best person to work with children. I have been working for Ability Builders since 2016 as a physical therapist. Working for Ability builders has been a blessing because they have always provided me with plenty cases to fill my schedule. In addition, they pay every 2 weeks and are always on time. Ability Builder has never missed 1 payment…so very reliable. The staff is very helpful and quick to respond when I need help. Handing in notes and progress reports is an easy process through their online portal system. I highly recommend working for Ability Builders for Children, INC.

This place here is a waste of time. I called here when my son was about 1 1/2 in search of help desperately for my son who was not walking nor talking yet. Getting a service coordinator moved quickly giving his insurance was the main thing for them. For the evaluation he was evaluated wrong which took a very long to even recieve the services . After he was eligible for these services they so called said he needed never napped everything was online and who actually can have a 1 year hold held steady on a camera let’s just say don’t bother reaching out they won’t help you they are very nice but for what? My son walks now and talks by himself thank god because of it was for these people he would have never reached a milestone.

Great agency! The evaluators here helped get my son services after 5 months of EI evaluators with 3 different agencies who kept denying him. So thankful for Ability Builders!
