I've had a life long struggle with OCD. I was on the verge of giving up, so I reached out to Dave for help. Best decision I have ever made. He is the real deal when it comes to treatment of OCD. I have improved immensely in the 8 months I've worked with him. He had his own experience with OCD, so I appreciate someone knowing what I am talking about.

David Stephens was recommended to me by my psychiatrist (Lighthouse Psychiatry in Huntsville). My psychiatrist told me to keep an open mind and that she had several clients who spoke very well of him and his success with treating OCD specifically. I didn’t know what to expect, but I felt some relief immediately even after the first visit. I felt that he really understood what I was going through with my OCD, it was at a fever pitch by that point. I was wasting time, extensively over washing hands, Clorox wiping down everything that wasn’t moving, segregating outdoor and indoor clothes, not letting my feet touch the carpet… If you know, you know. And I’m only putting this out here because I know what it feels like to feel like it’s never going get better and no one knows how treat it. Spoiler alert, I’m doing much better. David did a good job of helping me work on the issue in a manageable way pushing, but not pushing too hard. This allowed me to be successful (though it does take time and hard work). He also will respond to messages on the portal almost right away if you have a question,a success, or even just panicking trying to get through an exercise. He’ll root you on. I also appreciated the humor injected along the way. It’s way better to laugh than cry. I refer to him as a unicorn for OCD treatment. I honestly never thought I’d get better, but I’m doing so so much better. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had been struggling with contamination OCD for eight years before I went to David. I tried counselors and therapists who had general OCD training, but it did not help. David knows how to provide counseling very specific to OCD which I think is a must when dealing with OCD.

David is awesome, he legitimately cares about his clients and it shows. He will challenge you in ways that will make you stronger and healthier, and I am extremely grateful our paths crossed. 10/10

Dave is a tremendous guy with such an extensive knowledge of OCD. He has helped me overcome my OCD and helped me to get back to a normal life. I highly recommend him to every person who suffers from OCD and all of the other various disorders that he is an expert on.

I'll keep it brief. I debated between 4 and 5 stars only because Dr. David Stephens is out-of-network. (He does not process insurance in-house. You have to file yourself as out-of-network.) However, my experience with him so far, while on the shorter side, has been amazing. He's real, encouraging, funny, and insightful. And above all else, his primary goal, as far as I have seen, is "to get you where you want to go", not to make money or further his career. So 5 stars it is!
