I have a 2 1/2 year old child diagnosed with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Language Processing Disorder. We applied right away for the grant since it was recommended to us to get her a device to use in Speech. The application was extremely simple and didn’t ask for much information. I emailed multiple times asking if they could check if I did it correctly. They first set they would look at it and let me know if they had any questions or needed more information. The last week had came so I emailed asking if I had done it correctly. No response. Finally after sending it again I received a short you will get a response on decision day. Which was pretty clear at that point. On the denial form it says thanks for sharing your story, no where did it ask for a “story”. We have a lot of family in the area that shared this with us. I don’t understand prioritizing people to get a pool instead of helping a child get their voice.
