One of my biggest regrets is seeing Dr. Law for several years as a teenager. I would not personally recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Christensen and Dana Monforton are both wonderful.
The first time I met with Dr. Law, I discussed my boundaries, as I have endured significant trauma and the only way that I could possibly move forward was if I could rely on my boundaries being respected. One of my main goals was addressing some family issues surrounding a very sick family member of mine, but it didn't take long before she started shutting me down when I would try to talk about my concerns. She accused me of having poor boundaries for wanting to work on these issues instead of going strictly no contact. Eventually she even began weaponizing my triggers to try to steer me away from the topic. But what caused the complete collapse of our working relationship was when she had a joint appointment with me and another provider, and lied about me in front of my face to this provider. When I provided proof that what she said was a blatant lie, she terminated me as a patient, claiming that she no longer felt she could trust me. She accused me of being entitled. She, of course, would not acknowledge her ethical violations. Classic DARVO.
One year later, update about my teen’s treatment with Doctor Nicole Law: I wish I had a good update, but that is not the case. Nicole has been counseling my teen for over 6 years now, against my wishes.. She first alienated the child from father completely severing the contact for a total of 3 years. When the child became a teenager and wanted to reconcile with the father, Nicole tried to cover up mistakes made along years of therapy, but this time, alienating the teenager from the mother, causing irreparable loss of contact for over a year of precious time with family members and a dependency on her advice. If that was not enough trauma caused by this therapist, her arrogance took the best of her when she decided that she was the right professional to be the reconciliation therapist, which under any point of view, is a complete conflict of interests. Her last resort was an attempt to bully me, threatening to intentionally leak the contents of our discussions with the judge presiding our divorce case. I said ENOUGH. She has caused trauma, hurt and pain for a whole family, has taken the family from this teenager and the teenager from the family. She has caused scars to everyone one involved in this case and never once admitted wrong doing. She should not be giving advice to teens, or to anyone since she tends to mix her own turmoils with the patients lives. I’m
I see Matt, he is fantastic. He asks me questions that help me find myself, he listens to me when I need to rant, and he's a positive and stable influence on my life. I've been seeing him since February of 2020, and he's helped me through Covid, multiple girlfriends, an estranged relationship with my brother and mom, and mental health problems. If I ever stop seeing Matt, I will always remember him as the gold standard for counselors/therapists. The world would be a better place if every therapist was more like him.
