My psychiatrist has worked with me for the past 3 years and she has single handedly made my life easier and more manageable. Highly recommend this place!! (Also she has a women who’s learning that sits in on my appointments and she is so kind and very knowledgeable)
While the front desk was kind and the billing was handled efficiently, my experience with the therapist was concerning. My first appointment was canceled due to a "computer crash" after I'd already waited 13 minutes. I understand that technical issues can happen and that was not my primary concern. What was concerning were the words in the therapist's message. The initial message was casual and lacked any apology or acknowledgement of my time. When I explained that I was seeking a more empathetic therapist for the topics we would be discussing, the response was even more dismissive and invalidating. The phrase "sorry you feel that way," is often used to dismiss someone's feelings, and it was alarming to hear it from a mental health professional. This brief exchange was enough to make me lose confidence in the practice's professionalism and their concern for patients. I ultimately decided not to reschedule.
First, I have to say that the therapist that I see, Chelsea, is absolutely amazing and she has been so helpful. I feel like my mental health has gotten better since seeing her. Also, the woman at the front desk, Amanda, Is super sweet and helpful as well. My current issue is with the billing department.. Billing really messed up with my account. Four months billing claims were not going through to my insurance, And it took them four months to let me know that this issue was happening. So you could imagine the bill that was racked up.. There was a slight issue with my insurance that got solved and was all set but billing didn’t have the correct ID for my insurance after giving it to them several times. Today, I was told that I was all set for a telehealth appointment and I waited on there for 15 minutes.. When I realized that my therapist probably isn’t coming on the appointment, I went on the app and saw that my appointment was canceled.. I was not called or notified in anyway that this appointment was canceled. And I genuinely think that billing canceled my appointment again after telling them that it was all set. My insurance company even called the billing department to tell them that it was all set and was going to be backdated. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with the billing department at Arrow. If they had let me know what was going on back when they were having issues four months ago, I wouldn’t be having this problem right now.
My nurse is great the billing person is rude and acts like she is above everything.she acts like I am wasting her time.
Long story short, this practice was not helpful in my daughter's medication management whatsoever. She was prescribed probably 5 different formulations of methylphenidate over a few months, most of which were not covered by insurance, all of which had no positive OR negative impact on my daughter at all. I understand apprehension to prescribe stimulants to children in the first place, what I don't understand is a preference to keep changing the same one over & over rather than try a different one. Better to just keep wasting valuable time tweaking the same med 500 times, all the while this 9 year old child is suffering in school during a critical year (third grade). As far as her last appointment that was scheduled, apparently it got canceled, because after having sent a message to the clinician that the most recent Rx was still unavailable for pick up, she not only never responded, but I never received a reminder for her next appointment, & the day has since come & gone. I've elected to just try to find somewhere else to bring her at this point, although that's very difficult in this state right now. For now though, my kid is simply back to square one. This could have ended a lot worse, I definitely worry for other kids.
Our experience with Arrow Behavioral was terrible and the clinician we worked with was very unprofessional. To begin with, the clinician regularly showed up to our Telehealth appointments 1-2 hours late with no notice, leaving us wondering if we were having an appointment at all. When we would call for help the clinician was almost always on vacation and unreachable. When we were able to get in touch with the clinician they offered little to no help and appeared to not understand my sons diagnosis and needs. Now that we have switched to working with a new practice I am fully able to see how awful our experience with Arrow truly was. Be aware of the lack of expertise, especially when entrusting them with your child’s mental health.
