I would not trust Autism West Behavior Partners for an ADHD evaluation. We paid thousands privately for our six-year-old to undergo combined ASD/ADHD testing with Maddy Aubertine, PMHNP-BC. Our parent Vanderbilt was positive for both inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive ADHD. We reported major problems with distractibility, transitions, impulsivity, emotional regulation, forgetfulness, and executive functioning. Autism West’s own report documented many of these concerns. His kindergarten teacher’s Vanderbilt was negative. Instead of adequately investigating that discrepancy, Maddy called her approach “conservative,” declined to diagnose ADHD, and recommended monitoring and reevaluation in 12–24 months. We didn’t need 12–24 months. Four months later, his new teacher is reporting behavior and attention problems. His aftercare program is independently reporting the same. Another clinician has now assessed him as having ADHD. The problem did not suddenly appear. Autism West failed to adequately identify it. Calling this “conservative” is troubling. Waiting until a bright child accumulates enough failures for impairment to become undeniable is not harmless. Kids spend that time being corrected for behavior they struggle to control and can begin internalizing labels like lazy, careless, defiant, and difficult. There is also a credibility problem with the reviews here. ABA Navigator currently shows six reviews for Autism West, all five stars. At least two are from people with publicly documented ties to the company. Rosario Escobedo is Autism West’s Intake Coordinator, yet her review promotes its ASD/ADHD testing without disclosing that employment relationship. Leah Dickey also has a team bio on Autism West’s website. Between the failed “wait and see” approach and undisclosed insider reviews, I do not consider Autism West trustworthy. Our son deserved better.

It can be difficult to find counseling support for children, teens and adults on the ASD spectrum, but you will find it here! They offer both in-person and virtual options as well as ASD and ADHD testing.

This company truly cares about the enhancement of each unique mind, body, and spirit. The dedicated staff treat every learner with dignity, respect, and care. It’s an amazing place to learn.
