Needed antidepressants Kept giving me antipsychotics made my PTSD worse

It is very frustrating how little organizations such as these, serving the mental health industry, are willing to talk with caregivers even when they have legal documents authorizing conversations. They automatically assume your drug seeking and will not engage a meaningful dialogue regarding how to promote the heal and well-being of someone diagnosed with a debilitating mental health disorder.

I have been going to this place for a while. Love them. They really listen and take care of their patients. If they are not compatible with you or you wish to go to someone else, they will recommend someone to you, they will not force you to stay or be pushy. Great people, great service.

This office is one of the worst I have ever been to. I’m not saying that there ain’t worse, but in my personal experience, it is. First off, trying to get ahold of Melissa under emergency basis is next to impossible. I have left message after message for days, until I finally went to her office. Then it took more days, and message after message again. Showed up at her office again. That time I didn’t get to talk to her, the lady at the front desk said she personally would call me back in an hour at most, with a response from Melissa.. I waited at least 4 hours before calling them again. No one had even talked to Melissa. I ended up playing the “hold” game relaying messages back and forth. Melissa was not even listening to what was going on with my child. She wanted to use the term “anxiety”, and prescribe more anxiety medication. I kept refusing it, because that is not the case. My 7 year old son battles rage behavior, and needs something to help curb the outbreaks. Melissa still prescribed more anxiety meds that he’s already on, against my refusal. Melissa believes that my son is having anxiety. His therapist and I know better then this. I have canceled all of my kids and my services with Melissa. So as a recommended advice, if your child suffers anything other then depression or anxiety, I’d suggest going else where. On a side note, the medication she “tried” to prescribe, would have put him to sleep in the afternoons. I know this, because she had him taking 2 of them at bedtime. My child don’t need to be asleep during the day, he needs the right medication to help him.
