Balanced Minds

We had a good experience with Dr Swanson but their billing department is unethical. Instead of working out a problem with insurance they charged our credit card. And now even after insurance has paid two and a half months ago they still have not refunded us what they charged. In fact their website says we still owe $2000 when they owe us $1500!

We have used Balanced Minds for their adult assessment services, child assessment services, and child therapy, and I can say definitively that their help has been a major turning point in our family's happiness. Each person there has been compassionate and helpful in the specific needs of each person (5!) who used their services. I especially want to mention Dr Swanson for her patient support with each of my children's assessments, as well as her continued therapy provided to my son - he went from being completely quiet and withdrawn to a chatterbox who looked forward to therapy every week. I could not have managed my large family's idiosyncrasies nearly so well without her guidance - I attribute us still all liking each other to her help :) My only concern has been that paying them is not a straight-forward process, however any delays have never been held against us. Strongly recommend!

Unfortunately, their customer service and billing practices leave much to be desired. Make sure you receive a ***written*** quote for cost of services. We were charged almost three times what we were told would be the bill, and they were not interested in resolving the matter and were entirely unsympathetic.
