Jason is easy to talk to and he takes the time to listen.
I'm new to Kingsport Tennessee and Ive been a patient at this place since July 2024 and If I didnt need my medicine I wouldnt bother with this place the doctors don't listen and enjoys treating people like lab rats I stead of goin by medicine history and using what works they want to give you meds like your a science experiment
My daughter is a new patient she made her appointment in September but can't be seen till middle of January 2026. My daughter DOESN'T need to be hospitalized yet she struggles with her mental health and needs her medication. The wait time for an appointment regarding medication is ridiculous and then NOT adding her to a cancellation list automatically baffles me. The tone in the receptionist voice "oh I understand" sounds so fake. If your family needs help I WOULDN'T recommend this place. 1. They don't seem to be staffed properly. They keep accepting new patients when clearly understaffed just out of greed for money. 2. The tone in their voice is so fake "oh I understand" NO you do not if you did when making an appointment MONTHS out regarding medication. The patient should automatically be put a "if there is a cancellation" list without asking to be put on one 2 months later.
Netrans was delayed in getting my brother to his appointment. We were literally 5-10 minutes past his appointment time getting here. This appointment had been rescheduled 2 times. My brother is handicapped in a nursing home and still would not see him. It is very challenging to get him to appointments because of this. Made no allowances for something beyond our control. Horrible customer service. Avoid them. Ballad needs a lesson in customer service. The Dr. is Scott Spraberry. It was his decision.
The staff there is really friendly!! I love my therapist and my med provider.
My provider, Philip Connors, has helped me tremendously over the course of being in his care. I was EXTREMELY saddened when I learned he is leaving Ballad Health Behavioral. Ballad Health is losing an outstanding provider. He has worked diligently with me until we finally found a medication that helps one of my disorders. He's a great listener, very compassionate, takes time with you and really cares about your well-being!!! A GREAT LOSS FOR BALLAD HEALTH BEHAVIORAL AND ESPECIALLY HIS PATIENTS!!! I know that he will be very successful wherever he goes and will continue giving the outstanding care to his future patients as he has here.
Be ready to wait months to see anyone. When I saw my therapist there, they would tell me the next time I would schedule would be a month out. My therapist was more like my best friend, giving me advice rather than being a therapist. She would say, "We'll do EMDR therapy," then never do it. Actual therapists have treatment plans; these people are clearly not organized and don't have the capacity to be because they're scheduling too many people here rather than prioritizing the people who were here all along. Obviously, if you are scheduling mental health patients a month or months out, you don't understand what mental health is. Maybe get more providers and counselors because it's a joke to wait this long.
