Basal Therapies & Preschool

Amazing!

Very busy facility with limited or no evening scheduling, little to no communication, and gives push back when parent is engaged and asking questions. The space to drop off and pick up your child is very small and extremely loud making it hard for some kids on the spectrum. Unfortunately it is one of few places in the Frederick area that offer services. There is not many other options so you have to play their game and do what's best for them and their needs, or chance not being able to find other services in the area. I am searching for a facility with a common sense approach in regards to scheduling and services with a focus on the client.

I got charged for a visit fee, and all they did was have my son sit on their lap while I talked to an equipment rep. In the end no equipment was even ordered but charged me over $100. No thanks

Basal has been the best choice we have ever made for services for our son and their Preschool is truly the best! Its a small classroom setting with real one on one attention and developmental focuses for each student. Our son has also received Speech and Occupational Therapy both in the class and private services; these have a made a huge difference! Our son vocabulary grew daily and has started to form two work sentences, we have also see a wonderful improvement in his motor skills. I will always recommend Basal, its a real investment in your child's development.

After notifying two different people (weeks in advance) that my son would not be present the last week of school and having my husband call the day before to make sure they do not have him on the schedule, they claimed we didn't adhere to their 48 hour policy. Completely disregarding that we notified them weeks in advance and focusing on the fact that we called the day before to *make sure* they had his schedule correct. A company that screams accountability on their clients part but doesn't hold theirselves to the same standards is unfortunate. Luckily for them, their waitlist is a mile long. Unfortunately for you, you'll get no where because you're a dime a dozen.

Basal therapies and Basal preschool have been with my son since the very beginning of our journey. I immediately felt so comfortable with everyone I met and could tell he would be in good hands. We started with speech & OT, and then he attend the preschool the last two years. The teachers and the therapists are amazing; always communicative, supportive, knowledgeable, and caring. My son is always excited to go to Basal. As a mom, there is nothing more valuable than knowing he is in good hands, receiving quality services to better his and our lives, and he is being accepted and celebrated for who he is as an individual. Basal has become a part of our family, and I can't imagine not having their support and expertise. Our son has made SO much progress over the last two years.

My daughter has been attending weekly sessions at Basal for speech for one year. Her growth has been amazing to watch, her therapist is always so kind, understanding, and is doing a phenomenal job helping her learn and grow. Our son had developmental delays at 1 year that we spoke with the pediatrician about getting him assistance. We worked remotely with the county, but it didn’t seem to help him. We were given Basal Therapies as a referral by a new pediatrician and they were able to get our son in for speech therapy quickly. Olivia has really helped to get our son to a speech level that is developmentally appropriate for his age. It will make him and us very sad when our son soon graduates from Basal Therapies. I recommend Basal Therapies to anyone in need of speech or other therapy needs!

My little one has speech and feeding therapy sessions through Basal and we absolutely love working with them. The staff are very open with communication and concerns. They always keep me in the loop and have helped my little girl tremendously over the past few months. They also assisted in getting her an AAC speech device through insurance. I highly recommend them. Autumn and Holly are great with my little one and she adores them. Thank you all for being so kind and helpful. She is excelling so much! Highly recommend.
