As a parent, finding a behavioral health provider you can truly trust with your children is not easy but BEAN Behavioral Health exceeded my expectations in every way. I have had the experience of having my children evaluated by all three psychiatrists, and each one was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They took the time to truly listen not just to my concerns as a parent, but to my children themselves. I never felt rushed, dismissed, or talked over. Instead, I felt respected, supported, and included as a partner in my children’s care. What stood out most was the consistency across the team. Each psychiatrist brought their own expertise, yet they all shared the same commitment to thorough evaluations, clear communication, and individualized care. They explained diagnoses, recommendations, and next steps in a way that was easy to understand and reassuring. BEAN Behavioral Health creates a safe, welcoming environment where families feel heard and valued. As a parent with lived experience navigating behavioral and mental health systems, I can confidently say this is a practice that puts children and families first. I am truly grateful for the care my children received and highly recommend BEAN Behavioral Health to any family seeking thoughtful, comprehensive, and compassionate evaluations and care.

Got testing done at bean, child wasn't diagnosed. School did testing a few months later. Noticed one of her scores was low so they did more testing. School said symptoms we mentioned can overlap with other disabilities. School diagnosed her. Different than what we thought she might have but what do we know. That's why we went to a professional .That same score that was low was something that psychologist at Bean found and mentioned during our meeting. It was in our final report. She said it "could" be a sign of something. But she didn't do any follow up testing to be sure. Our school saw that score and did do follow up testing. even asked the school what age could that extra testing have been done, and my child fell into that age range when she had seen bean. School psychologist said this is a disability that can absolutely be diagnosed by a psychologist. Wwhole process felt rushed. When we asked follow up questions we were met with defensive remarks and excuses. With the price we paid, we really expected more of a thorough process. School report was much more thorough and took our concerns seriously. Bean did bare minimum. Idk what their response below means. public schools do not charge for testing so school testing does not require insurance!!!! Insurance barely covered anything here anyway. When the school diagnosed our child, it was free if charge. Please look into this option first even if homeschooling. Public school was more thorough. I was paying for you to get to the bottom of what was going on with my kid! You missed tests you should have done. Pay does matter because you charge people when public school doesn't lol customers think that means you'll be more thorough not that you'll rush through their child.

I have had a great experience making referrals to Mary. She is flexible and makes every effort to get clients scheduled as quickly as possible, which is incredibly helpful for families. Mary has a strong ability to assess each child and family thoroughly and provide recommendations that are appropriate and individualized. Mary is unique in her ability to connect with and begin breaking down mental health stigma within Black, Brown, and Spanish-speaking communities by meeting families where they are. She approaches each family with cultural awareness, respect, and understanding, and makes thoughtful, appropriate recommendations that align with their needs and circumstances. I highly recommend Mary for her professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine commitment to the families she serves. Thank you Mary for all you do!!

Yes, it does take a while to get your evaluation results done but that’s because they’re usually very busy and they take the time to give accurate assessments. EDIT: Updated my review from 3 stars to five because I was impressed with the evaluation after reviewing it myself. This is a good place, it just takes time to get a quality assessment done and to get the results back and if you check their website they are honest about this as well.

The testing/information presented in our final report was different that what we were told was going to be in the report during our initial meeting. Without going into too much detail for privacy reasons, there was testing included in the final report that we were told wasn't going to be redone because the school completed that testing already. BEAN was also supposed to reach out to another professional for more information about our child, and they did not. As a result, we did receive a diagnosis but we feel like this diagnosis was given out very quickly as a result of the missing information. It makes me wary about it's accuracy. I know this is the opposite of what others have said in their reviews here, so we were very surprised by this. They said we would be a good candidate to do a reevaluation in a year or so, but we would also have to pay again for that work too. We were told that they would definitely want to reach out to the professional they did not reach out to this time. So it's surprising that they didn't the first time when they said they would. We did not receive communication that she was going to be excluded from the report or any reason as to why she was excluded - only that they would like to talk to her next time. For anyone that decides to use their services, please be sure you know what's going to be included in the final report before paying. I've worked in education for over a decade, so I (falsely) assumed that she would include the same information/testing as we discussed in the initial meeting as that's how it's done in the education field. So we were very shocked by the final report as we felt as though it lacked information that we were told would be collected and included a repeat of school testing that we were told didn't need to be redone during our initial meeting. The diagnosis that was given was directly related to the professional that they did not reach out to. And that professional does not believe that the diagnosis given by BEAN is the complete picture. She was also incredibly surprised that they did not contact her when we shared the final report with her. We were told multiple times how busy their practice is so it makes me wonder if that had something to do with our experience as I know from the reviews other people have had the opposite experience. Please be careful as it is a costly process. Edit: For other parents who might read BEAN's response below, the provider was absolutely not contacted. We are in touch with this provider frequently and she never received a message from BEAN. We were the ones to bring up this issue to BEAN. These changes were never communicated to us as this was an oversight, not an issue with getting a hold of a provider. I know how hard it is to find places that will do this type of testing. But if you choose to go with them, please be careful. If I could redo it all, after the initial email, I would email them a list of the testing they said they would complete. That way you have a paper trail if there are discrepancies. Between the redoing of testing they said they would get from the school and not contacting this provider, I cannot recommend BEAN.

Bean Behavioral Health is run by 2 exceptional psychologists, Dr Corcionne & Dr Mercado. They both have extensive knowledge & experience working with children and adolescents therapeutically as well as performing comprehensive assessments & evaluations. I highly recommend their services.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Mercado for several years now. She’s the second professional my daughter has seen. The first was not a good fit so it made finding Dr Mercado all the better. She really understands my daughter and is great at connecting with her. She was very patient in building their relationship of trust. She’s also incredibly flexible in terms of making our schedules work in creative ways. I would not hesitate to send anyone her way!
