My son is 4 1/2 years old and has been with behavior basics since he was 2. We were able to recognize and see the need for early diagnosis and treatment which I won’t lie, at first felt daunting and overwhelming but somehow God put us right where we needed to be. From the moment I stepped into Behavior Basics, I felt supported, listened to and have always taken comfort in knowing that each day my son is there, he is safe and cared for. For those of you that also have a child on the spectrum any level, trusting someone else with your child is difficult as safety is a huge priority because they do not always understand basic things to keep themselves safe from harm. (Situational awareness, wandering off, etc) I was able to feel confident that he was safe when I dropped him off and when he was receiving therapy with his RBT. I also feel blessed that since day one, I have been able to actively take part in my sons plan of care, learning how to mimic the goals set and am able to continue to teach my son even at home. This was so important to me. I needed help and guidance on how to manage and work through some of the challenges that we’ve faced throughout my son’s life and I have always had that help from my BCBA and RBT’s. The staff has been so supportive and has been helpful every step of the way and we have seen so many positive changes! We feel so thankful and blessed to be a part of a wonderful facility that truly cares for their clients and their families who were probably like me in the beginning, felt lost and in need of guidance and help. I can now give my son the most opportunities for growth, learning, love and happiness! We wouldn’t be where we are today without our team at Behavior Basic’s! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I have had the best experience at the Eau Gallie location. My son has been going there for years. The RBT’s and BCBA’s always go above and beyond for my child. He has made so much progress and he enjoys going there. I am blessed to have found a great clinic that supports not only my child but our family. They also go to his school which has helped him so much. Kristen who is his BCBA has been the best!
On February 2, 2024, I visited the Brevard office in Eau Galle to gather information and potentially enroll my son, who has been diagnosed with ADHD and autism, for therapy. I chose this therapist because they collaborate with my son's new school, and I believe he could benefit from their services. They informed me that they needed to confirm if they could accept my insurance and if they had availability to accommodate my son. Despite making numerous follow-up calls, we struggled to get updates as the responsible person was often unavailable, and our calls were rarely returned. When we did manage to connect, the information provided was insufficient, or excuses were given. I had to visit the office multiple times to push for progress or seek an update. It took them four months to finally inform us that they were unable to accept our medical insurance due to billing setup issues and that they did not have space available to treat my son as they were at full capacity. The communication and handling of this matter were unprofessional. I could have utilized the time to find an alternative provider, but unfortunately, options are limited in this county.
