3 years ago i went to this place for depression. The lady that was my therapist was nice at first so i thought this was going to be good for me. At the first session she mentioned that many of her patients switched or left because of her which i was confused about but didn’t ask further. Few sessions later she started acting very disrespectful and unprofessional. She started telling me how i’m not trying hard enough and i clearly don’t want to get better. Which was very disrespectful and hurtful. As taking the step to see a therapist was already very big for me and for her to tell me that.. was very discouraging. In the same session she also mentioned how i smelled really bad. That was my last time going to this place. I went home and cried. I cannot believe that they would allow this. They saw many of her patients quit and never questioned her and continue to let her treat patients. I was 17. I needed help not a person to tell me i wasn’t doing enough. Do not come to this place. And to all the patients she had that also quit because of her behavior i’m so sorry you went through that. I didn’t speak up then because i was a scared teenager and i’m sure others didn’t as well because of fear. Our mental health matters. This is the exact reason many don’t seek help, because of judgment and she did exactly that.

I wish that they offerred the ability to contact the provider email or on the portal. I also feel that parents should be encouraged to NOT attend individual counseling sessions in an effort to support independence. While allowing the child a safe place to talk about things without a parent present allowing the child to express things they otherwise might not disclose. Outside of that the counseling is very good.
