I was obligated to take a medication that caused me headaches every day. When reporting these headaches the provider seemed dumbfounded and blamed them on stress, when in fact it was a direct cause of the mediation. When asking to switch to a similar medication the provider said "I don't prescribe that". In a career where you vow to cause no harm to patients but do so based on a biased opinion it creates a lack of trust for patients trying to take care of their health and bodies. The lack of knowledge on the medications being prescribed is concerning and if you experience similar treatment do not give up hope because there are better providers available that will understand and listen based on facts.
