Honestly it wasn’t that bad here some staff are mean but Mrs Alex and Mrs t and the nurses were my favorite and Mrs Jess and a lot of the people the food was good sometimes but I never really got restraint but I saw kids and some of the staff were easy some not and they have groups and skills that honestly helped and u can’t escape at all there’s no way out unless the power goes out
CEO Jeff Lox is more concerned with his own bottom line than providing a quality service.
I was there in 2001 I was a hot Mess but made it through the Program. I was in the locked unit. Richard was my Prime great guy. I often wonder how everyone is that was there with me. Want to say Thank you to this place and the staff that was there you all are truly amazing
I was in there during 1991 to 1993 and due to my program I was attacked by children under 18 years old.... this place is not what it seems and u never truly know unless u live there
I was at bellefaire for 7 months and absolutely hated it. This is not a place to send your kids to I promise that. I got restrained there multiple times which I’m not going to lie I was a trouble child, but they were so violent in the restraints. I’d walk away with bruises every single time. They will make fun of you when you’re struggling or even when you go to talk to them about what you’re struggling with. Staff there were rude and inconsiderate. I had a few good staff there Makayla and Alex. They were super sweet and made sure to check up on us. My review is to let you know this is not a mental health facility this is for troubled kids.
i stayed here for almost 7 months i think and it was honestly terrible, the only good thing there was Mr.Patrick, and my other worker which i cant remember her name sorry. Other than that everything was horrible. I was there for new years and we had a "Party" with a bunch of food and stuff. As i was eating two of the staff members were talking about the alcohol that they had in the fridge, obviously that should not be in the building but whatever i let it go. Then as i was walking away because i didn't want to deal with it they yelled at me and called me ignorant and stupid. Another day i had a boy in there tell me he was going to take me in the laundry room and take advantage of me because he knew i wanted it.(I didn't). I asked the staff for a 5-foot order thing and they denied it because it wasn't a big deal but gave me a 5-foot rule with a girl because they thought i was to close to her. The staff took nothing serous and started multiple fights. One of the times i was mad and yelling so they restrained me and held my neck down so i couldn't breath and i ended up with multiple bruises all over my body. Staff made me go into full detail about my best friends death(who committed suicide in front of me). because it would help. even tho it was very triggering to open up about especially in such deep detail. I am so much better now that im out and able to work on myself. I have come to terms with most things and i am almost 4 months sh clean and 2 months clean of drugs. I am in a great spot in my life and honestly i think i would have gotten here quicker if i didn't go here.
This is not a therapy institution, this is a place for troubled teens, and they treat everyone as such. They even asked my mother for permission to restrain me. I was at Bellefaire when I was 12 or so, newly out from my father's death, something else very terrible, and in a terrible place mentally. I had a school therapist who sent me to a therapist who worked here, who was already trying to get me off of my most effective coping mechanism, the internet. She sent me to this place, and it was the worst. They both treated me like they could cure me by making me write down positive affirmations about myself I didn't believe and forcing me to puke up my trauma on command. For some reason, in this place, Xs are good, and I got an X taken away one day for jokingly calling myself stupid. The teacher then started trying to force me to get up in front of a group of kids and "say three positive things about myself", and my embarrassed refusal to do that got me another X removed. Then, this therapist meets me after the day is over, and starts lecturing me about it. She then demanded I write down every single "mean" thing that was said to me. I won't get into detail, but I have a disorder that causes me to block out most of my trauma almost all the time, so I couldn't simply cough this information up for her, which royally pissed her off, as well as the fact I wasn't playing along with the artificial affirmations I never believed. She started yelling at me, a depressed pre-teen, who was probably ten steps from an attempt at ending my life, that if I didn't try harder- remind you, this is about coughing up insults and swears and reciting faked affirmations, not about anything actually important- I would, and I quote, "never amount to anything in life". The "therapists" at this place are vile and will only hurt kids, PLEASE for their sake don't send them here.
