After having a less than ideal experience at a different ABA center, we were hesitant to pursue ABA all together. Blossom changed our minds and welcomed us with open arms. Rachel and staff care so much about every child that walks through their doors that we felt at ease almost immediately. We worked on a treatment plan with them for our child and he thrived. We are so thankful for the love and care they showed our child. They’ve made a lifelong impact in all of our lives.
I do not recommend Blossom if you have a school age child, or a child about to go to school. They will not work with your child’s schedule. I repeat they will not! They did not with my child. They always wanted a full day of hours and not half days it was always a flat out no and no other solution. It’s all about money and hours and their clinical recommendations. They are against your child going to school, and will not work with you. Beware of what they tell you it’s not all true. All they care about are hours, and forget about the best interest of the child. It’s a shame and unfortunate. Also, go to a provider that will give you proper parent training. Never did we get that with our BCBA all it consisted of was talking about schedules and meeting hours and we barely saw her. Never did we get proper parent training to help us with our non verbal child with autism. I repeat never! In the end we lost our rbt due to her leaving to another provider, I don’t blame her. She was great with our son however we understood she was not being treated fairly by the provider. With her leaving they would only hire a replacement rbt if we would agree to their schedule that would take our child out of school most of the week. They didn’t care that our child’s school was a 4 day instructional week. They wanted hours! If your child is missing school that much they are missing out on learning and these are not skills Blossom will teach. We were not treated fairly and were never allowed to bring our child to the clinic. It was strictly at home therapy. We were clear from the beginning that we wanted the best for our child and if it took driving 45 minutes away to take him to the clinic we were open to doing that. However that was another no that was given with no other solution. These are all the red flags we will be looking out for when searching for our next provider. Please do your research thoroughly and ask plenty of questions for your child sake. Update: My son is now thriving after ending ABA services with this provider. Aggression and matters we were facing while having ABA are now gone. After seeing a neurologist we were told that it was ethically wrong by the provider to recommend services to a child with ADHD when it wasn’t being treated at the time. It was only making matters worse to continue to push not only a child with autism but one with ADHD. All the provider cared about was the hours and never had our best interest in mind. This only made his aggression worse and with them knowing that they wanted to continue services without offering help with knowing he has ADHD. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. If it doesn’t feel right don’t do it.
I would not recommend this center for any child. In my experience with them, they seem to prioritize insurance money over the well-being of the children. Despite telling you that your child is making progress, it seems that they only check boxes on their files without actually putting in the effort to help the children. It is also difficult to reach out to them for any concerns, and their therapists do not give any feedback on what they work on with your child during the day. At the end of the day, they simply hand over a tablet for you to sign and do not even provide any comments on how your child did. I suggest that parents should conduct more research before enrolling their children in this center.
Everyone is so welcoming! The rooms all have windows and feel very inviting!
I can't say enough great things about Blossom. I have had my very young, autistic, non-verbal child here for 2 months and already she has made incredible progress. The staff really seem to care for her. They are well trained, have a clear plan for her treatment, and consistently document her goals and progress. They give me a record of everything she eats, drinks, and does all day long. She is happy and excited to be there every morning! I have found the administration to be responsive and helpful. They recognized my daughter having very subtle signs of an oncoming illness and alerted me right away. I have met the owner, who happened to be at one of the fun family events that Blossom organizes, and she is wonderful, friendly, and quiet knowledgeable. I hope that you child does not require Blossom's services, but if he or she does, then they'd be in great hands.
