Blue Arc Behavioral Services

I would not recommend Blue Arc to families of color or otherwise. Staff and leadership have made racist remarks about children and excused discriminatory behavior instead of addressing it on several occasions. This environment is unsafe and unprofessional. Families deserve providers who treat all clients with respect and integrity.

3 phone calls with messages 6/20, 6/27, and 6/30 Got a missed call and text on 6/30 at 7:30 pm from the ABA Manager asking to reach out when I can and stated there was some issues with them not receiving voicemails. But I did also get an email that said I was put on the waitlist for therapy. Texted back and called/left voicemail on 7/4 (after the holiday weekend) with no reply since and her number goes directly to voicemail. 3 more calls to the main office 7/11,7/18, and 7/21 ( today) and I have yet to speak to a real live person. Desperate to get my son the help he/we need and was hopeful of Blue Arc with these reviews but really disappointed we couldn't even speak to a real person to get a foot in the door. UPDATE: 9/13/25 Was contacted by their ABA manager within hours after posting the review. Took all my info and explained she was out office then explained the long wait list. Stated they would send emails every month to confirm I still wanted to be put on the waitlist and havent seen any correspondence since. Tells me all i need to know about the company, the 1 star stays. Also didnt even realize until this update they responded to my review as "Ana" instead of my name.

To say Blue Arc changed my family’s life would be an understatement. My husband and I were at a complete loss when we reached out to Stacey about placement for our then-4 year old son. Previous ABA therapy did not work for us (we later learned this was “classic” ABA—and BABS utilizes the latest and greatest clinical methods that actually WORK), and we saw how much our son was struggling, and how emotionally unprepared he was at the time to enter kindergarten. BABS treated my son with such dignity and respect, and gave him a voice and positive ways to express himself. We spent 14 wonderful months at BABS, and I absolutely sobbed on my son’s last day when they gave us a card with the most thoughtful messages to my son. The staff at the “Blue School” (as my son calls it) are incredible, loving people who truly go above and beyond with even the most challenging of circumstances. Something I heard a lot during our time there: “What WON’T the Blue Crew do!” And it’s the honest to goodness truth. I thank my lucky stars for the Blue Crew, and the proof is in the pudding—my son is doing SO well in kindergarten now.

After Blue Arc opened their learning center, they have become a pillar in the Richmond Autism Community. They continually show up in the community, at schools, and in home. What a kindhearted crew, they will continue to drive forward empathetic ABA therapy in Richmond!

Was tough to hear our child falls in the top 5% of most challenging cases seen by his psychiatrist, but fortunately for us we found a top 5% ABA company with Blue Arc Behavioral Services! Our care team's professionalism and clinical expertise can only be surpassed by their overwhelming compassion and dedication to their clients and their families. Stacey and James are AMAZING and turned us into strong supporters of HRE:-)
