Bold Pediatric Therapy Center

We have been using BOLD for nearly four years now, seeing Leslie for speech and Brenna for OT services. The strides my son has made have been incredible, and they've been so flexible as he's grown and his needs have changed. I recommend them all the time, and we're so happy to have found them! We also absolutely love all the front desk team.

We know how important therapy is, so writing this review is not something we take lightly. Everyone’s experience will be different, but I wanted to share ours. Donna at Bold was recommended to us, and we had heard wonderful things about her. We were on a waitlist, which we expected, and were thrilled when we got an appointment. We were seeking food therapy for our 11-year-old son, who is shy and has anxiety. While Donna has high energy, which initially made us question the match, we were open-minded and hopeful. However, from the very first appointment, Donna repeatedly emphasized the need for commitment, which felt unnecessary after the initial mention. We’ve done OT before and understand the importance of commitment, so it felt odd to have it brought up so many times. At one of our last appointments, we were supposed to bring bread for therapy. Unfortunately, the bread we had was moldy, so we didn’t bring it. We weren’t told beforehand that we could bring any food item as a substitute, which would’ve been helpful. Donna later explained this, but it felt like an honest mistake that could’ve been avoided with clearer communication. The most disappointing part of our experience was during that same session when Donna questioned our son’s commitment and asked him a lot of yes-or-no questions, which made him cry twice. This was heartbreaking, as therapy should be a safe and supportive environment. He had only met Donna a few times, and the approach didn’t feel right for him. We truly believe Donna was not the right fit for our son, and we hope others have a better experience. When I called to discontinue services, the conversation was very short, and it felt like they were expecting our call. They didn’t ask why we were stopping or express any concern, which I found odd for a business. Instead of having a conversation with them, I’m leaving this review to share our experience and provide feedback. We will be seeking services elsewhere and hope this feedback helps improve their approach in the future.

Terrible customer service. The owner and front desk staff are extremely unprofessional, rude, and snarky. I decided to pull my child from this place. The only positive experience was with Leslie, she was amazing!

We absolutely love it here. They have become part of our village with both our kids. Donna has advocated and pushed for us to seek the care we’ve been asking for from others for 4 years. We finally have seen our daughter turn a corner. Ryan has been gone above and beyond to help our son better communicate and develop speech. Speech has become our favorite part of the week now and we never want it to end

Our family has received occupational therapy from 4 different Portland clinic over many years, and this has been our best experience to date. The therapist we work with, Mason, is spectacular; the office staff and owner are efficient, responsive, and well-organized. This clinic is recommended by family therapists in Portland for a reason! So glad we sought care here.
