Brain Balance Center of Des Moines

After a few short months we have seen tremendous improvement in our child’s behavior and ability to emotionally regulate himself. We were skeptical at first but took the plunge despite. Don’t let the price scare you off, it is well worth it! The teachers are helpful & kind. Kiddos always have a smile on their faces coming out when they’re done.

My daughter has shown significant changes in her awareness of her surroundings and others emotions, since starting Brain Balance. She has also made major improvements in her testing scores in school. She went from performing below her grade level to now at or above across the board! Her teacher has commented on her being the type of kid she loves to teach, because she is growing leaps and bounds, and wants to do and learn more! There are several other growth milestones we have witnessed here conquered and surpass both physically and mentally - all while going through a growth spurt. Historically, she would have likely struggled with being more clumsy/accident prone, but instead she has taken things in stride and is getting hurt less, because she is more aware of herself and her environment. Probably the area I am most impressed with is her improvement in keeping a rhythm - she doesn’t come from a musically inclined family - so seeing her smile when she realizes she can do something better than mom and dad, has been priceless! I would absolutely recommend the Des Moines Brain Balance program to anyone looking for an opportunity to help their child succeed and overcome challenges of ADHD!

We cannot say enough good things about Brain Balance of Des Moines. This program made a tremendous difference for our son—particularly with his anger, concentration, and overall focus. From the very beginning, the team truly listened to us as parents. They took our concerns seriously, offered thoughtful suggestions, and—just as importantly—affirmed that what we were experiencing as a family was normal. That reassurance alone meant so much. Emma went above and beyond in every way. She took the time (on multiple occasions!) to connect directly with our son’s school, helping develop appropriate and effective interventions for his IEP. She participated in Zoom calls with teachers and support staff to ensure everyone fully understood his needs and how best to support him. That level of advocacy and collaboration is rare and deeply appreciated. The entire Brain Balance team has been incredibly patient and intentional in building fun, positive relationships with our son. He genuinely looked forward to going each week—it became the highlight of his week, which says everything. Even though we live an hour and a half away, Donnie and Emma worked closely with our family to create a plan that truly fit our schedule and needs. We utilized a hybrid model: one in-center session per week, one Zoom session, and one session completed at home. That flexibility made all the difference and allowed us to fully commit to the program. If you’re considering Brain Balance and wondering if it’s worth it—our experience says absolutely yes. We are so grateful for this team and the lasting impact they’ve had on our son and our family.

Brain Balance has done miracles for my child, in combination with his regular play therapy my child has seen significant improvement. I saw a change in his behaviors within a month. We are no longer having extremely meltdowns throughout the day. I was at a loss and not sure what else to do until we found Brain Balance. The staff are extremely kind and they are more than flexible with scheduling. I hope to get my other children in the program as well.

One of the biggest changes I’ve noticed with my daughter since starting at Brain Balance is when something doesn’t go her way and she has a meltdown they now only last 15-20 minutes compared to them lasting up to an entire day before hand. She is also making realizations on her own regarding her attitude and behavior. She’ll compare her before Brain Balance behavior to her new behavior and make statements like “I was not nice to that girl last year before I had my Brain Balance.” She’s also falling asleep faster, sleeping sounder and sleeping longer. Brain Balance has been a life changing experience for our entire family

I heard about Brain Balance from a lady o use to work with. I have always wondered what was wrong with my son. I also never wanted to give him meds. When I found out about Brain Balance and brought my son there to see what was going on and started to do the program for all of his behavior things and how life has been for him. It’s been life changing for him and my self along with his siblings and teachers!!! Within the last year his teaches have noticed how well he has grown and understanding how he should be when something upsets him or doesn’t go his way. This program has been absolutely amazing and one of the plus side of it all is the fact that I do not have to give my son medication for this!!! I have seen go that effect other family members and I as a mother never wanted that for my child. Thank you Brain Balance!!!

We highly recommend Brain Balance. Our child had struggled with crippling anxiety, worry, and fear. After the time at Brain Balance, we have seen our child improve the ability to process emotions and worries. We have also seen an improvement in overall demeanor and the ability to relax and have fun. We feel like we got our child back!

We enrolled our child into the Brain Balance program with hopes of improving behavioral control, personal boundaries and reducing emotional outbursts. At first, the results were subtle, progress felt slow during the initial weeks, and we weren’t sure what to expect. However, after staying consistent with the program, we began to see very positive improvements. Fast forward several months later our child now has much better control over their behavior and emotions, which has made a huge difference at home and in school. The journey required patience, but throughout the entire process, the brain balance team was fantastic and transparent with what they were seeing and focusing on. We are very happy with this experience overall and recommend for any family looking help with behavioral challenges.
