This place is truly fantastic. My daughter has autism and was previously nonverbal. After just three months here, she has made incredible progress. She is now talking and even responding to us, which has been such a blessing to witness. Her coach, Layna and Grets have been absolutely amazing with her. We are so grateful for the care, patience, and dedication they’ve shown.

I had amazing experience at brain balance and the staff was great. They are flexible when it comes to scheduled changes and making sure each session is plan accordingly. I appreciate the monthly meeting to let me know how well my daughter is doing and also send home activities that my daughter can do at home to help her be more successful. I love how around each kid including my daughter get a board decorated for their bday. With the help of their program my daughter has become a different person. Her school even noticed the big change. Because of them she is able to focus, build new friendships and even her grades are better. When my daughter graduated they praised her and decorated a board to congratulate her. I will highly recommend anyone and everyone to them. I will be sending my son soon he turn 4.

My son is autistic and has been enrolled at Brain Balance since September 2025, and the progress he has made has been truly remarkable. We went from experiencing multiple meltdowns every day to only one or two a week—and even those are very mild compared to what we used to face. He is now willing to try new foods and even enjoy going to restaurants. Going places has always been a challenge for us, as he would often fight, scream, or become very upset when it was time to leave or when things didn’t go his way. Now, those moments are rare and nothing like what we experienced before. Seeing the progress my son has made, I would absolutely recommend Brain Balance to anyone in need of their programs. The staff is absolutely wonderful—everyone is kind, supportive, and incredibly helpful. I am so thankful for Brain Balance and the positive impact it has had on our family.

I would like to start off by saying everything gets better with the time. Being consistant is key to helping every child be successful and to be able to stand in their truth. My son was struggling with behavior issues at school and at home. My son has ADHD, Anxiety, ODD, Epilepsy and a severe mood swing disorder. He began Brain Balance sessions when he started the fifth grade. I took him off all his medications to let him be in his natural state, he attended Brain Balance 3 times a week and he excelled, the behaviors drastically changed. It’s been over a year now and he is doing very well. I was skeptical at first about Brain Balance, but they proved me wrong. It really worked in my son’s favor. Thank you to all the staff that helped with the process. Im grateful. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Brain Balance of Mequon truly changed my twelve year old daughter’s life. She was born with autism, has sensory issues, difficulty with eating or even trying new foods or even the smells of strong foods were so unsettling for her. Since joining BB, she has shown incredible growth: better impulse control, less anxiety in public, improved confidence, and increased socialization at school. She even volunteered at school for the first time and attended a class birthday party without me needing to stay! What amazed me most was her emotional growth. She began showing empathy and compassion and now regularly performs kind acts for classmates, teachers, and our family. She has also tried over twenty new foods and beverages (Didn't do this before BB), improved her time management, and gained confidence that her teachers notice daily. The staff are AMAZING! They are welcoming, encouraging, and so positive. We had monthly check in's with her program director, weekly updates on her progress in sessions, and text communication was easy to navigate with emails, texting or calling if I needed to reschedule or add a session. We drove 70 minutes each way, three times a week for over a year, and my daughter never complained once. She even wants to become a Brain Balance coach to help other kids when she grows up! We are forever grateful for the help she received from Brain Balance of Mequon and this program has changed her life forever.

Our experience at Brain Balance Center of Mequon truly changed our lives. From the very beginning, the staff was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and compassionate. After multiple school-based assessments, we were still left without answers as to why our son was struggling academically, socially, and emotionally. Brain Balance was the first place that helped us understand the root cause and provided a detailed plan showing how we could work together to help our son achieve what we all knew he was capable of. The coaches built meaningful connections with our son, meeting him exactly where he was each day while gently pushing and challenging him during every session. Watching him feel supported, understood, and encouraged was incredibly powerful for us as parents. As a result of the program, our son’s independence and self-confidence have grown tremendously. He is performing better at school and is more confident in his ability to be successful, while also being willing to put himself out there and try new things. The center director went above and beyond by helping connect us with the CLTS program through Waukesha County, which made attending the program possible and opened the door to additional resources for our son to truly thrive. We are beyond grateful for the entire Brain Balance team. The impact they have had on our son and our family is immeasurable.

My daughter developed normally up until age 5 where she developed anxiety and sensory processing difficulties. By the time she had started first grade, she could not handle being in a school environment. It was too loud, overstimulating, and chaotic for her. She would come home after school and have severe meltdowns because of trying to hold herself together all day. Her teacher noted that she was very anxious and dysregulated, especially after lunch/recess where the noise and energy of the school was just too much for her system. Since she had no learning disability or cognitive delay, the school did nothing to help. I had my final straw after I was told that my daughter found a classroom closet to hide in to prevent some of her triggers. I pulled her out after about 2 months and found a smaller school environment, thinking that would help. It was no different, her anxiety, sensory issues, and emotional regulation issues continued. I then kept her home since she could not handle being in a school environment. I knew something was wrong, even though no teacher or physician ever mentioned that she could be on the autism spectrum. I had looked into getting her assessed and diagnosed. She received an autism diagnosis at the age of 7 of levels 2 and 3, which is pretty severe noting her symptoms became worse as time went on. I felt as if I had a 3 or 4 year old at the time that she was 7. The diagnosis was a blessing considering she would get the help she desperately needed. The diagnosing physician recommended 40 hours of ABA therapy a week, so I got her on the waiting list. She also started play/talk therapy, OT, which only helped a little for the day, but did not last. She also tried Equine therapy, art therapy, among others to try to manage symptoms. Nothing helped and my daughter would refuse to go and participate in these therapies due to her severe anxiety and sensory issues. She eventually quit them all. Next was the ABA therapy, which I thought was the answer. She did almost 6 months of this therapy at home full time. It was a lot of sacrifice for little results. I had re-enrolled her for the second half of second grade since she had missed so much school. She continued to struggle. I had then asked my caseworker about Brain Balance. She had mentioned that it was a big commitment for my daughter, knowing that she had quit every other therapy. I thought we could try it, having doubts of course. As soon as my daughter started at Brain Balance, it seemed like she liked it. I had hope. She loved all the coaches and staff members. There is no place in the world that she felt more comfortable at. The coaches have a way of working with her where she is comfortable and loved. She could also be her quirky self and was accepted without judgement. They worked with her 3 nights a week and my daughter never complained about going and had amazing results very quickly. The first improvement was her motor coordination. All of a sudden she was riding her bike with no training wheels. Her body had more control and she was more focused. Some of her repeat behaviors dropped off, along with improved equilibrium. She also was able to tolerate bus rides for field trips. She worked with Brain Balance all summer and improved so much, it is a true miracle. She is now able to tolerate a classroom environment. Her anxiety is next to gone, she tolerates a loud, chaotic environment and has had only a few outbursts after school due to sensory overload (compared to daily). One thing of importance about Brain Balance staff and especially the coaches working with these amazing children who are struggling.......Is that in my experience of other caretakers/therapists/teachers, etc. None of them have known how to work with my daughter in a way that she could feel comfortable and safe so she could benefit from the program. I have no idea how they do it, or how they know, but they just do! Thank you so much!

My daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was 5. She was a child that had social interaction struggles and some safety behavioral concerns. I had spent months and months on waiting lists to get her in to receive the therapy that she desperately needed. She was just starting out in school, and she was already behind her peers. She was simply unable to do what was “expected” of her. My mother came upon Brain Balance and thought I should look into it and see what it was all about. This was the absolute best information I could have been given. Brain Balance has allowed my child to grow and actually stay in the classroom now everyday more than she is out of it. It has been an amazing journey watching her throughout the program and seeing the potential she has. The best part is that we were able to get her the help that she needed without any medication. The program is a huge commitment for everyone involved, but I promise you there is something to this. It is worth it. You will also never find more patient and caring staff to work with. Every receptionist, coach, and director are the kindest and most patient people I have ever met. They listen and explain the why behind the various behaviors that are occurring. They are there for you and your children. I will also note that looking into qualifying for the Children’s Long-Term Support program (CLTS) in your county to cover the cost of the program is a step I wouldn’t skip.
