Over-all good experience so far.
BrainPower has an incredibly knowledgeable, caring, nurturing, and professional staff. The office staff is very communicative and do a wonderful job of explaining finances, scheduling, and the testing process in general. The testers are always prepared and skilled at administering all forms of tests, as well as working with any client personality, ranging from adults to struggling children. If you are interested in getting tested for yourself or your child, go to BrainPower!!!
My Daughter recently got diagnosed here with autism and other co-occuring diagnosises. She usually doesn't do too well at a place she's never been to or being around people she does not know with myself or her Dad present, but she did very well! She said she was sad she might not be able to see the staff that worked with her again after her last testing session. The staff and doctors working there were all polite & acted accordingly. The diagnostic process was explained in full & all questions were answered about the process & the financial aspect. We did not feel like we were rushed & we felt like they listened to us and worked very well with our child. The questionnaires were sent prior to the first testing session, as was stated at the initial conference. We felt that the testing process was extremely thorough & straightforward, we also got our Daughters evaluation summary promptly after the last appointment was concluded. I really like that we had the option to add an academic testing portion, because they were able to confirm she struggled with dysgraphia, which her school does not test for. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our experience as well as the results we received!! I would HIGHLY recommend going to Brain Power if you are looking to get your child, or yourself, assessed. I'm not really sure why there are so many negative reviews, this place is great! Don't let the negative commentary stop you from looking into Brain Power!! UPDATED REVIEW: My assessment was completed & I received my evaluation summary on time. It was concluded that I do have Autism, which is ultimately a relief to discover at age 35! My experience was wonderful & extremely validating. The staff is nice & polite. Dr. Morton is personable, knowledgeable & seems very sweet! My testing was catered for adult diagnostic criteria(so, they do thankfully do different testing for children and adults!). I was also able to get in for my evaluation months earlier than originally planned since I was on a call list for cancelations. I am so pleased with my experience, and as previously stated our experience getting my Daughter evaluated as well. Two 5 Star Reviews here 🙌
I don't have much to say about the office staff, but I do appreciate Dr. Katherine Morton. I got my diagnoses in April of 2023 after waiting around 6 months on the waitlist. I was 22 at the time I was diagnosed with my issues, and it is a children's testing center, so the evaluations given unsurprisingly can feel insulting to your intelligence if you're getting diagnosed with ADHD and other related issues as an adult. Dr. Morton is aware of how outdated the standards used to be when it came to evaluating ADHD/Autism in women, so despite me worrying my symptoms weren't visible enough to be diagnosed, she confirmed everything, including my high functioning autism which I only became aware of myself just a few months prior. We discussed my results for a couple hours in detail. All in all, I found Katherine to be an open-minded and intelligent psychiatrist, and I'd recommend her for those looking for an autism evaluation. Editted 06/2025
I’m a divorced father doing everything I can to support my 12-year-old son. His school, Youth First counselor, and pediatrician all recommended he be reevaluated—his last assessment was at age 6, and his 504 plan has been getting worse. I scheduled an appointment with Brainpower months in advance and provided signed court documents showing I have joint legal custody and the legal right to make medical decisions. Brainpower still canceled the appointment just because the other parent objected. Despite my legal rights and multiple professional recommendations, they refused to move forward. This decision hurt my son’s ability to get the help he needs. I’m sharing this to warn other parents in similar custody situations—don’t assume this clinic will respect your legal authority or put your child’s needs first.
Fought hard to get my kid diagnosed they called me before appt and canceled said I didn’t fill out forms. After looking at reviews I decided to go somewhere else but yes red flags were waving. Glad I didn’t go here.
