Kids and parents love Amy! Her willingness to meet each kid where they are sets up a positive relationship from the start. Amy then makes learning new skills fun. She also takes the time to educate parents on their child’s needs and how they can help. As a result, kids make gains and parents feel empowered!
Really poor communication. To be fair, never saw a counselor. I was on the waitlist for 6 months (technically I still am, I guess?), they said it could be 2 or 3 months. Was very annoyed when I would e-mail for updates. Lots of excuses and blame shifting. Sometimes it would take weeks to get a simple reply.
I am so grateful for Amy and all of the work she did to help my son with his fine motor skills. She is attentive to parent concerns and feedback, and helped him develop his fine motor skills in a manner that was gentle and engaging, meaningful and developmental!
Amy did such incredible work with my Sensory Seeking daughter at her previous location that we purposefully sought her out at Bright Spot when we needed more help two years later. Her affirmation of my child’s gender diversity makes for a warm and welcoming environment for therapy. Amy is so gifted with attunement that she can effortlessly weave in therapeutic activities with my daughter’s imaginative play. I have learned so much about how to be a better parent to my Sensational child by watching Amy in action.
My 5 yo loved his visits to Ms. Amy. He learned so much about recognizing what his body and mind need so he could self-regulate. We experienced real results and he 'graduated' from OT with the ability to appropriately access tools and strategies so he could be successful in kindergarten.
Amy is an incredible practitioner. She is treating my young son for Sensory Processing Disorder and is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. And my son LOVES going and asks about it daily. We are just getting started on our treatment plan, but I have high hopes and we already see some positive changes after a few sessions.
