I have had many counselors, educators, mentors etc. Dr. Brooks encompasses something much more than one, or even all of those. His methods are simple but the most effective I have ever used. He get's you to understand yourself at a level in which you had no idea you could. Really great service, amazing person in and out. His team is just as good. Highly recommend

I did it!!! Best part is its not just substance abuse its criminogenics also!! David Brooks is like the local younger more g dr phil 😂I recommend ! Seriously if you're having any struggles with substance abuse or your criminal behavior and in legal trouble id call Brooks Behavior Health and go thru his program. David is so easy to talk to and open up to, hes very understanding straight forward and really knows how to get into people . He knows just the right questions to ask that make you really think and see things you never realized. He helps u find yourself and figure things out that youre stuck with. Legit he always has great advice with whatever problem you have and bring his way. Hes def in it to help people and has all his "clients" best interest at heart... he doesnt do it for the money like alot of programs do. His program is diff than any other ive been in and I have to say is absolutly hands down the BEST. Its the only one ive been able to successfully complete and ACTUALLY put my all into, was completly honest and real thru the whole thing, was actually able to talk to Brooks about things before I let it blow up and end up using drugs or having a relapse. This guy is someone you def want on ur side throughout your recovery journey, holding you accountable, guiding you thru ur recovery and helping you, mentoring you, and teaching you the tools and skills you need for everyday life and coping with issues when they arise instead of abusing substances or engaging in criminal activity. Ive learned so many relapse prevention skills and just so much in general. Im so glad I chose to attend this program, it really has changed my life for the better, taught me so much, helped me change what was killing me and ruining me, its one of the best things thats happened to me and David and his staff have been there for me by my side since the moment I walked in his door they also have provided so many resources and help with anything else I've needed. If you go to this program I promise u you're in the best hands u can possibly be in. Seriously try this program!!! Esp if you've tried a bunch of others and they just dont seem to work or dont seem to last very long before you relapse.. as long as you put in the effort David will too and youll make it further in your recovery than ever before.. I know I have never been 100% sober as long in any other program.. id use once here n once there and then eventually full out relapsed.. I have been clean since April 30, 2019 and haven't used one time!!!! even though I went through some VERY trumatic events such as the loss of our baby n pregnancy and having to get my last tube removed and become not able to get pregnant naturally. So huge shout out and thanks to David Brooks and his staff you guys are the best!!!!!

Just finished up my DWI classes from Brooke's Behavioral Health Services and there is nothing but positive things I can say about David and his commitment towards helping individuals better themselves. His interest in my sobriety and life struggles made it very easy to talk and open up with him about what I have been going through. He doesn't force anyone to become sober, but rather welcomes you to open your mind to how you can turn your life around in a positive way. To anyone needing DWI/DUI classes, or anyone wanting honest help, I highly recommend you visit his office on 3rd street in downtown Frederick.

I have known David for the past nine years,he has tried numerous times to help me but I never wanted to change anything. With this being said David's way of therapy is awesome when you apply the suggestions and become honest with yourself and your counselor this is when you will see the results. He has helped me with So much with the way he does his classes that I've gained a level honesty and commitment to myself that I haven't seen in me in a long time and I've truly have matured in this process and I owe all of this to David's commitment to his clients and his teachings and I also believe in myself now. I would recommend David to anyone that is in need of therapy and help with substance abuse. He also helps in many other ways but if you want to know go check Mr and Mrs. Brooks out and see if he is a good fit for you. My family and I are truly grateful to him and all the things that he has helped me through all the years I known him wouldn't change him for anyone else in the world. David Brooks is truly a one of a kind. People say you can't speak about it unless you have lived it, which puts Dave in a unique position to both be able to speak about addiction, and to teach others about it. There have been many counselors in my years of recovery and some were good, some were bad....then there's dave. Dave isn't just a counselor, he is also a friend and a role model. I haven't met another addict who hasn't looked up to Dave as somewhat of a hero. He has dedicated his life to understanding how the mind works and finding new ways to teach these facts so that every client who walks through his door can understand them. Not only is dave the single smartest and most dedicated counselor that I have met in the field of addiction counseling, but he is also family to many. If I had not met Dave while I was incarcerated years ago, and then if he had not opened up his own treatment center, I do not know if I would even be alive today. There are many factors as to why and how I am still here today, but I believe that David Brooks is a major factor. My family and I all truly thank Dave from the bottom of our hearts and I wish I could repay him for EVERYTHING be has done for me and everything that he has done for my fellow addicts. My personal opinion is that you will not find another counselor in our area who has the knowledge, the passion, or the love for addiction counseling that Dave has.
