CAN Do Kids - Consulting, Therapy, Training and Education

My nine year old son has considerable sensory issues. His central nervous system is deregulated. Doctors say he has ADHD. He has seen a psychiatrist before whom solely focused on drugs. Now, his pediatrician also follows the same script. How do you treat ADHD? Of course! With Big Pharma. he is presently taking Ritalin. I’m sure that does wonders for his little developing, pre-mature brain. It suppresses his appetite during the school day but, by golly, at least he can focus for a few hours. Thinking there has to be another way: a better way to not just treat symptoms but, to attack the core problem first-hand, we were referred. What a blessing the Can Do Kids team has been!! Melissa Pocaro (founder), shared a book with me. ‘Reset Your Child’s Brain by Victoria Dunkley, MD.’ Within the first five minutes, I was shocked at how dangerous and destructive screens are for kids. Highly, highly recommend EVERY parent read this book. Some of the tips I took from the book were to turn off your Wi-Fi before bedtime. In fact, LEAVE it off the entire day if possible. Wondering why you can’t sleep good, why you might have a headache, etc? It’s the EMF signals saturating inside every nook of your home. My fiancé couldn’t sleep continuously throughout the night no matter what. Even melatonin didn’t work. I recommend she turn off the Wi-Fi at night. The very next morning, she slept through and never woke up. Not once. The only change to her routine was shutting the Wi-Fi off. Uh huh. She also bought a Wi-Fi EMF cover to place on the outside meter. This will only add more protection to the home if purchased. Sleeping for me has always been an issue. Since I kill the Wi-Fi each night before bed, I do NOT have the fog or irritability anymore upon waking. Also, I strongly limited my iPad use before bed. My Apple Watch is sitting in a drawer. Back to the simple Timex. The artificial blue light is incredibly toxic, even for fully-developed adult brains. My advice is to tell every parent you know with a child alleged to have some type of ‘learning’ disability or ‘mental health’ branding (depression, adhd, bipolar, etc.) about Can Do Kids. This program will truly impact your life and most importantly, you will get your child back! Remember: big tech companies work hand-in-hand with big pharma. They know exactly what creates addiction. That’s their focus. It’s not about convenience or having a device that is socially popular. It’s ALL about getting you and your children HOOKED on their drug, destroy your child’s brain, have your pediatrician or doctor prescribe antidepressants or powerful psycho-tropic drugs. Repeat the cycle. Ever wonder why children throw major tantrums or aggressive behavior when they can’t watch tv or play video games? Screens raise their blood pressure, create toxic proteins on the brain which causes them to have a Fight or Flight reaction. Get that book & spread Can Do Kids around in the community.

My 6 year old daughter has several developmental delays; motor skills, comprehension and more. Can Do Kids use of play based occupational therapy has helped my daughter so much in just the first month. We have a little longer to go, but the progress alone makes it so much less stressful on us parents. I highly recommend them if your child is struggling in any area. If you're at your wits end and just need answers, Can Do Kids will evaluate your child and devise a plan to help them to grow and be successful in their life.

I have 3 children with medical needs,2 of them attend CAN Do Kids and have for several years. They are awesome! They are very helpful, caring, and everyone there truly loves their job and cares about the children. Their hippotherapy program is amazing and my kids absolutely love it and have come so far and made so much progress. This place changed our life. Raising our 3 year old was such a struggle and we didn't understand why. Once we brought him here and realized he had sensory processing issues, so much started to make sense! After just a few sessions, we started noticing a huge difference in our son, Charles. He no longer screams and runs away when music is playing at restaurants or businesses. He actually uses complete sentences to explain what he wants! He can put on his own pants and underwear now! He will let us wash his hair now without screaming. This may not sound impressive but if you're a parent with a kid like this, you understand how much of an accomplishment it is. If you have even the tiniest inkling that your child may need help, don't hesitate to come here. Therapy is through play and my son loves coming to therapy every single time. My only regret is not coming sooner.

Can do kids has done wonders for our son. They are great with him and dealing with his unique personality. We have been seeing them for the past three years and wouldn't change anything. Our son would rather go to can do kids then recess or PE. They have gone above and beyond for our son with working with the school and recommendations for his behaviors. The ladies are very friendly and easy to work with. They have a fun environment.

I have been taking my son to Can do Kids for almost a year now and I have to say that they are by far the best. I have taken my son to everyone else around and nobody has gotten him to respond and grow and develop the way that Melissa and her amazing staff have. He looks forward to therapy and enjoys learning with Miss Kristen everytime we go. I can't thank these wonderful women enough for all the time and love they show me and my son. I would give them 10 stars if that was possible. Not only do they help my son, they help our family by teaching us things we can do at home too. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place and these people are. Truly a blessing to my family!!
