Comprehensive ABA therapy services tailored to your needs
I have been callng Capable kids for the last 6 months and left countless voicemails with no response. Eventually I received an email from Heather Beam and she said she would send me an application for my son, but never did. I have since emailed her back on numerous occasions with no response.
Please be aware they have employees who are grown adults that find it fun to go out of there way to shame and bully kids under 18. to keep ur kids safe is highly recommended knowing who ur kid interacts with in this facility!
The owners are absolutely amazing people, if your child is able to get into Capable Kids family they will be in great hands.
2018 ⭐For parents needing a gentle method of learning for their prince or princess - Heather B. & Staff are here to assist you in every arena of their walk!! They focus on hands on full daily care. 10/2025 🌟Their waiting List is worth your wait if your child is what you value. These petty whiney reviews I just read are why the already enrolled Capable Kids are thriving! And, They Do NOT leave! So, IF Heather gives you a call back, you're Lucky!
My son attended CK for 3 years before we moved away. CK was amazing!
We have been a part of the CK family for many years now. Two of my children have been attending since they were each three. They are now 8 and almost 7. I was googling the address for some paperwork I am filling out and my heart breaks looking at the reviews here. As a parent to special kiddos, I know how difficult it can be to locate services. There are, unfortunately, far too few options. However, to be as blatantly nasty as some of these words have been, I do not understand. This program is run by a rockstar couple with far too little support, I am sure. While they may not be able to respond to everyone, for the kids they have, the support is unmatched. I drive my children an hour each morning to get to school and will do so as long as they will have us. I cannot say enough incredible things about this program, its staff, and the things it has done for my children. We are forever in awe of the fortune we have had in finding such a safe and nurturing environment for our children to thrive. I brought to them two highly anxious, nonverbal children with many sensory difficulties. All of these years later, they read beyond grade level, excel in math and music, play sports with their typical peers, are the most emotionally aware and intelligent children I know, and the gains never stop. Each IEP meeting with the local school district leaves them in awe of the program and how dedicated they are to my kids. CK attends every meeting, does all of the evaluations, and essentially writes the IEP for our local school district. The local school district praises the staff at CK each time they see them for their professionalism and hard work. Even they are shocked at the gains and progression. I am delighted and honored to be a part of this family. I could never repay them for the incredible work they have done with and for my kids. All I can do is be the first in line to refute all of the unfortunate words of frustrated parents looking for the same experience I was able to secure for my children. It is a tiny school. The teacher/therapist to kiddo ratio is almost always 1:1. They are incredibly choosy about their staff (as they should be). I am positive that, if possible, they would help every single family in need. They are some of the most kind and generous people I know and are wholly dedicated to the work they do. They are, however, one couple doing their best with the limited resources they have. And that best, for us at least, is an absolute godsend. I do feel for the parents who are frustrated and seeking help in this environment with far too many kiddos in need and far too little resources to go around. However, their words are not representative of the experience of the parents and kids within the program. I am grateful to drop my special kiddos off to a place where I am positive that they are truly safe and genuinely loved. They cry about having to take breaks for holidays or the summer. They beg to go back every day they have to be away. Most days I think they love their teacher more than they do me. This is a place where once you find it, you never want to leave it. Which may be why there are so few openings. The kiddos don’t usually leave until they age out, and like any other program, enrollment priority is given to current students. I cannot change the minds of those that have already written their experiences and opinions. I am aware of that and will in no way invalidate their frustrations or feelings of helplessness. I have been there and felt that. Parents of special kiddos are familiar with this feeling. I will say, however, that these frustrations are not due to Heather, or this program’s inability to help everyone alone. I hear their hurt and I feel for them. I just needed to share the flip side of the coin. I know my children's futures are so much brighter, having been given the chance to be loved and cared for by these incredible souls. Miss Heather, Mister Jeffrey, and staff, the Aldrich family loves you endlessly. The boys miss everyone so much and can't wait to get back to work in the fall!
I know I'm sealing my daughter's fate when I write this review. Don't expect Heather to answer any of your phone calls, emails, text etc. It won't happen. I have been trying literally for months to speak to her. My daughter's case worker from the Board of Developmental Disabilities has tried to reach Heather many times and can't either. I got lucky recently on Facebook messenger and reached someone, I was told I would be sent information through my email, a month later I have recieved nothing. My heart breaks for my daughter who needs help. Capable Kids doesn't accept Medicaid so maybe she feels she can pick and choose when to talk to people in need. Hire a secretary don't leave parents hanging, it's wrong and cruel. Edit... A day after I left this review Heather reached out to me via email. How convenient, considering the bad review I left. I was highly upset and she tried to tell me everything was slowly going back to normal after Covid and wanted to know if I still wanted a follow up. I found that hilarious considering my email was from February and it is now mid June. Also ridiculous because she answered my Facebook messenger stating she would send me information sometime in May and never did. Lies because I couldn't reach her WAY before Covid. She can't remember who she has reached out to and who she hasn't. I wrote a response to her email and explained my disappointment. She admitted she had no excuse and is completely overwhelmed. Unacceptable for a business owner. If you can't even handle answering phone calls how can you help autistic children. Maybe I should be her secretary. I'd reach out to each parent and at least straight out tell them I wasn't able to help. I wouldn't lead them on for months trying to buy more time. My daughter is non-verbal and I'm her voice and I won't allow such an awful experience to occur without warning others.
Extremely unapproachable. Heather Beam should close this business if she doesn't want to answers people's calls and reply to emails and voice messages. I physically visited the place and still couldn't reach the provider there. Someone else should do this business who we can rely on. I'm concerned about kids who go to this place. I'm concerned about my son's future in this city to where we are moving if there are people like Heather. I pray for all kids with disability to get out of those inefficient hands.
