Carolina Kinder Development

I cannot say enough how helpful Carolina Kinder has been for my son’s PT and OT! We started seeing his physical therapist, Courtney when he was an infant for his neck tightness and asymmetry of his head. Courtney was incredibly kind and helpful in addressing the cause of these issues and each session would give his some great pointers and tips to use at home. Fortunately after a few months of therapy sessions we were able to correct the asymmetry of his head and avoid having to put him in a helmet which was such a relief! In addition to helping his neck tightness and asymmetry she also gave us some great tips and activities to work on to help him learn to roll, sit up, and crawl, all by 7 months of age. In addition to physical therapy, we’ve also been seeing CKD’s amazing occupational therapist, Maria since my son’s frenectomy procedure to release his lip and tongue tie. She has been wonderful to work with and has really helped my son’s tongue mobility which has done wonders with the introduction to solids. She even went above and beyond by joining me at my son’s frenectomy procedure which was incredible of her to do and made me feel much more at ease. I cannot say enough good things about Courtney & Maria at Carolina Kinder Development!

We had the BEST experience here. My son needed a cranial band at 7 months, and from the very beginning the entire team was incredible. They use an updated 3D-printed helmet, which was amazing, and they explained everything so thoroughly. Everyone was so kind, patient, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Getting a helmet can be a scary and emotional experience for a parent, but they truly made it as positive and stress-free as possible. I felt supported every step of the way. Highly recommend this clinic!

My son has been working with Lizzie since mid August. I can’t say enough good things about Lizzie or Carolina Kinder Development as a whole. He came in with plagiocephaly and torticollis and within a few months both have resolved. On top of being wonderful with my son, Lizzie and the whole practice were very accommodating with my 2 year old who had to accompany me to many of his appointments. Thank you for all that you do!

Received message saying complete paperwork early or come in early to complete. Arrived 30 minutes before my appointment to be told my appointment was canceled because I didn’t complete paperwork online. Horrible experience already was freezing to bring my daughter outside at 8 am on a Saturday for no reason was a waste of time. Then just asks do I want to reschedule no I am here before my time why would I reschedule. Standing at desk while lady sits at two computer screen in the kitchen so unwelcoming not a good experience at all.

Cannot say enough good things about Courtney and our experience with the 3D printed helmets! An integral part of our son's "village".

Maria Stephens is the absolute best therapist we have ever seen. We have been taking our daughter to her for over 4 months every week and we have never seen so much improvement with her feeding and over all development. We have been through very difficult times with our daughters eating issues, gut issues, allergies and development and Maria has been the true constant in all of it for all the success we have had. We are so thankful for Maria and recommend her to everyone and anyone that we speak to about our daughter!

Millicent is the best!!

Maria was awesome! Not only was she able to diagnose my daughter's tongue tie, she was able to provide supporting exercises to make sure she gained proper tongue mobility and function. She took the time to be very clear on my homework and what progress I should see. I also appreciate that she didn't keep me longer than necessary. Once she saw my daughter had made the proper progress, we were able to "graduate". I never thought OT would be necessary for a tongue tie revision, but now I can't recommend it enough to set your baby up for success!

My daughter started coming to Carolina Kinder Development around 6 months for a cranial band and also received physical therapy for about a year. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the whole team. Everyone was so kind, supportive and an expert in what they do. Can’t recommend enough!

We have been going to Carolina Kinder Development for about six months and everyone there has been so kind and positive. Maria is terrific and does a great job of really focusing in on the questions we have and the updates we share between sessions for our child. She is wonderful with our child and clearly explains everything she is doing during the session. She also provides great recommendations as far as development aides and gives us really great exercises to work on with our child in between trips. I would highly recommend her, but I would also feel confident with any one of the other therapists based on the passion i have seen in them.
