Comprehensive ABA therapy services tailored to your needs
Life changing. I wouldn’t take stock in the negative reviews left. As you’re dealing with endless emotionally unstable people who are probably used to manipulating and getting things the way they want them. This isn’t that type of therapy. DBT brings you out of your comfort zone. It’s literally like learning a new language. Is it a cookie cutter fit for everyone, no. But are there practical, life lessons that can be applied instantly, yes. You have to be willing to be vulnerable and open to learning a new understanding. Otherwise, it’s not going to work. Everyone at this clinic is incredibly kind, patient and while yes, they are endlessly slammed with calls. It attests to the importance of the service they provide. This therapy was the catalyst to changing a lot of lives. Don’t let a few negative reviews allow it to miss out on changing yours too.
Therapy is a weird service. It is very subjective and experienced differently by every person, even when it's done exactly the same way. On all clinics' pages—even the ones that practice only physical medicine—you'll sometimes find a mix of gleaming and scathing reviews. What works for one person may not work for others. When one client clicks with a therapist, another may find issues with. I myself have shared my negative experiences at a clinic that many people have found excellent. I say this not to discredit the negative or positive reviews here or on any business, but it's a good thing to remember when seeing an odd mixture of quite polarizing opinions like there seems to be here. All of them are valid and hold merit, but none of them can truly predict your own tentative experiences with the business. I have been in treatment for almost 15 years and no place compares to CBM, who I started with a little more than a year ago. When I have a problem or concern I can bring it up with my therapist. I don't feel hurried or pushed too hard, and haven't been called willful or unwilling to do things. My skills group was great and there are other groups I may do as well. So far I'm extremely satisfied.
Along with what other people have said, if you are trying to work on trauma or emotional instability, DO NOT COME HERE. they will push your boundaries but will not be flexible with their own. Myself and many others have not felt safe or comfortable in this environment they create. They will only try and work on what they think your problem is, not what you genuinely came here to work on. Also, group "thearpy" is atrocious. The way they plan how they talk about situations is not helpful in the real world, especially the unnecessary youtube videos to keep you engaged. Unbelievable.
If I could give 5+ starts I would. I cannot speak for every intern/therapist/psychologist in the clinic…but I can speak for my treatment guided by therapist, Alex L. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty in your past and clean up your future.. this is the place. Alex held me accountable, challenged me to new perspectives, and instilled confidence in my healing journey. These are kind people in your journey who will listen, validate, and extend compassion. AND these are the kind of people that want only the best for you. You WILL be expected to complete your homework, to push yourself to try uncomfortable routes, and to break old habits that were never serving you. If you are fed up with running in a crappy cycle.. this place will set you right. If you’re not ready to accept responsibility and open your mind … maybe there is some growing to do before this clinic. I must emphasize that .. this clinic walked me through 3 years of growth and change. I would not be alive to type this message if it wasn’t for Alex. The groups are hard, sessions are hard, healing is hard… three years of hard work and facing pain are only a memory now.. considering that I can live a life of stability, control, and power. I am now in charge of my life thanks to CBM and their staff. 5+ stars is simply not enough.
Yikes!! I do not recommend this clinic if you are actually trying to get well. Before I started the program over a year ago, I thought my issues were challenging beforehand. I had no idea how much worse I’ve gotten since starting this boot camp. All I was doing was spending my time doing my as clearly stating my needs and limitations. The therapist spent all of our communications and sessions threatening me about being discharged from the program. Nothing is ever good enough for these people (interns.) and even one of the psychologists. If you need any accommodation, don’t go to this clinic. They won’t take in consideration any of your medical limitations and chronic severe pain. (Collapsed hips from a very rare bone disease for example.) I can’t even count how many time the “therapist” threatened me and actually got angry and spent the entire session complaining that the waitlist was 100 people deep lol. I’ve never experienced this level of disrespect and disappointment from any mental health facility in over a decade. The office staff has no idea what is going on and will harass and basically want you to do their job for them. Also, if you ask for a new therapist because the other one wasn’t even trained and would constantly blow off sessions, they will give you hell instead of understanding if you asked to be assigned a trained professional. In addition, this therapist found out I was looking for a referral and she called and left a very inappropriate voicemail well after office hours. For example, I drove 50 mins to this clinic for my appt and the individual therapist forgot that the appointment was even scheduled. The office staff tried to cover up. The office didn’t even know were this therapist was and had to call her. Wow. This clinic needs to first get the interns to follow the unrealistic rules before they interact or role model the dbt skills even. And if the intern or whatever they are don’t follow protocols or rules placed on patients, how can the patient get well. That’s pretty hypocritical. I’m going back to an actual clinic where they care about their patients and follow ethical guideline. Run while you can. Don’t let this cult like clinic ruin you. I regret wasting a year there just getting worse until I said no. I’m relieved I no longer have to deal with this negativity. Do yourself a favor and find people who actually care about your well being and you as a person.
Never go here please don't abusive place
Stuff happened to me here that other, infinitely more competent therapists later told me was not only unethical but downright illegal. They have no respect for the privacy of their patients. Talking to them is like talking to a machine which reads you a pre-written script and dispenses medication and can't be bothered with taking time to understand the details of your situation. If you are serious about improving your mental health rather than making it worse, look elsewhere.
