My daughter faced challenges with ADHD at Trinity University. Her struggles became more apparent during her second semester of college. She found her courses difficult and dorm life challenging, prompting me to search for help online. After extensive research, I found the Center for Biofeedback & Behavioral Therapy in Addison. We arranged for her to stay with her grandparents in Dallas over the summer for therapy, which turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made! Rusty, her therapist, made a significant impact on her life. He even provided remote training exercises when she returned to college. I'm proud to say she graduated with very good grades and learned to manage her time much better. Now, she owns a successful company in Houston and is thriving. We are so grateful for the treatment and support she received at the Center for Biofeedback.
Rusty and the Center for Biofeedback have truly been a beacon of hope and support for me and my family. Since 2017, we've relied on the center for regular visits and occasional wellness checkups, and each experience has been transformative. Rusty's guidance has been invaluable during our toughest moments, providing us with essential tools for navigating challenges with grace and resilience. What's more, our visits aren't just about therapy; they're moments of joy and growth. My children even look forward to our trips there, sometimes requesting visits even when we don't have them scheduled. Rusty's expertise extends beyond mere therapy; he empowers our children with coping strategies and cutting-edge cognitive tools that enhance their everyday lives. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, making each visit a positive and uplifting experience. If you or your loved ones are facing cognitive difficulties, I couldn't recommend Rusty and the Center for Biofeedback highly enough. It's truly a place of healing and transformation.
Our family has been working with Rusty for over a year, and he has made a world of difference! I heard about Rusty and his work from a friend of mine. Our son had been diagnosed with ADHD, but we tried ALL the medications and every one had the opposite and disastrous effect. That diagnosis came from two separate groups after submitting the two-inch thick educational assessment questionnaire. When we met with Rusty, I only gave him my son’s name. However, after Rusty analyzed his brain scan, he knew what behaviors and even thoughts our son had. He was very accurate solely based on the brain scan. He determined that our son did NOT have ADHD, (the scan would show it in a different region of the brain) but actually lived in a 24 hour state of fight-or-flight from anxiety. Our son now is happy, relaxed and content, and it was with no medication - just Rusty’s brain training. The scan and research was so fascinating, that I made our 19 year-old (who had no diagnosed learning differences, and was very high achieving academically) go in for a brain scan. It revealed he had a touch of both ADHD and anxiety which now are gone. Rusty’s brain research and therapy have made a huge impact for the better.
I had a traumatic experience my first semester at college. Rusty was able to provide strategies to help me deal with negative thoughts and situations. The images from my first brain mapping to my final brain mapping were much improved. He was able to help me lower my anxiety and move me into a position where I could talk about my experience without physical effects. I also loved having MooMoo and MoMo, his therapy dogs) sit with me during my sessions!
Rusty is amazing! He is genuine, approachable, and his passion and expertise are evident in everything he does. Rusty truly understands my kids and excels at offering guidance with parenting challenges. We can't praise Rusty enough!
Our family started working with Rusty in 2017 and he has been a tremendous resource for our child. He has helped our son with social skills, managing emotions and finding other outlets for his behaviors, due to AHDH and dyslexia. Rusty honestly cares about his clients and will be straight with them, while giving them needed tools to build their confidence, interact with their peers and change unwanted behaviors. Our son has learned so much from his interactions with Rusty. As parents, we have found him to be a great resource for us as well.
My son at the age of 10 went through a huge traumatic event and I was looking for the right place/person for him to talk to, to work through all the emotions he was feeling. I had a friend that recommended Rusty to us. Rusty has changed not just my son’s life but mine. He taught us both many different techniques to handle and work through stress and different emotions. Time with Rusty is not just therapy it’s an interactive experience. He works with your needs, creates a plan and provides extraordinary care and is thoughtful with his approach. My son loves going and talking with Rusty, visiting his dogs that come to the office and work in the stress room. I highly recommend Rusty and this center for your child’s needs.
Rusty is amazing to work with. He has helped our daughter so much. He was able to show us that she was in fight or flight constantly with the brain mapping. Then he has done biofeedback and play therapy to work with her to help calm her brain. We were desperate for help and had tried everything before we found Rusty through Shelton School. The positive changes we have seen have made our family function so much better. He has helped her with calming techniques and he has taught us what to do with her in each situation. Conventional things do not work for our daughter, but with Rusty’s help, we have finally seen progress and we cannot thank him enough for the help he has given our family. We are committed to working with him for her for as long as is needed! Thankful we found him!
Rusty is amazing. He is down-to-earth, relatable and has a great energy about him. You can tell he loves what he does and he is very good at it. He truly "gets" these kids and my son describes Rusty as "like family." Rusty keeps me informed of big discussions that come up in therapy with my son and helps guide me when I am not sure how to handle things as a parent. I can't say enough good things about Rusty; he has helped us time and time again to navigate difficult developmental stages and life situations that come up. We don't have enough good things to say about him.
