Comprehensive ABA therapy services tailored to your needs
I’m honestly shocked at the level of service here considering the daily rates. The place is anything but sanitary—my bed sheets weren’t properly washed, and to make matters worse, there are bed bugs! The rooms have a horrible odor, almost like urine, which makes it unbearable. On top of that, some of the counselors aren’t even certified. It’s mind-blowing how this place is allowed to operate. I really can’t recommend it to anyone. It’s an absolute mess. They also allow women to go in with men to do drug tests. If roles were reversed it would be an issue. Some things to take into account if you were looking into this place.
CNS is a amazing place where patients are number one concern.
Caring, professional approach and enough resources to do the job. My brother would be in much better condition if we had been able to place him there immediately after his accident.
This place has changed my life getting me the right testing, and medication to stop my seizures! Thank you so much Adora for being so amazing supporting my family through times where there seemed like no answer! Thank you Leo and team for amazing EEG visits! Super fast and friendly! Highly recommend for all your nuero needs!
My best friend of over 30 yrs currently resides at the apartments. We drove from San Diego to visit with her on her Birthday...,what a surprise she had. The place was very clean and ALL of the staff were very professional and friendly/caring. Thank you for taking care of our precious jewel K.C.
I recently attended the CNS in Bakersfield for 4 months of brain injury rehabilitation. I was impressed by the level of professionalism, understanding and dedication of the entire staff. I felt respected and valued. The staff treated everybody with kindness and compassion. The therapy center has a really wonderful rhythm to it. You interact with people throughout your therapy who have some overlap with you and also some who are extremely different from you getting therapy nearby. It truly is a community setting. It’s a very supportive environment. I sought an evaluation for speech changes in May following a mild TBI. It was very educational going through the evaluation process. I learned that they could also help me with some other problems that I’ve had from other mild TBI’s from 20 and 30 years earlier. I’ve been living with a disability for 31 years, following my first mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), but never once thought I’d be a candidate for this type of therapy. I mistakenly assumed that brain injury rehabilitation was for others with more severe level of disability. I was wrong. After spending four months in the company of so many patients with a wide range of brain injuries, I realize that the slightest TBI should be seeking treatment in an all encompassing facility, such as CNS. The CNS therapists were able to uncover the reason why I have some trouble with vision, reading comprehension, word finding, balance, and light sensitivity/depth perception. Their job is to manage the care of a person who’s had any kind of brain injury. They know what to look for to see what’s wrong with you and they know who to refer you to, to get the expert care. For example, I was having trouble with my vision and didn’t understand that it wasn’t the fault of my glasses prescription until the occupational therapist, Daisy, helped me understand that it was a neurological problem. Daisy referred me to a neuro optometrist who was able to diagnose a few conditions that a regular optometrist or ophthalmologist could not do. Daisy designed a vision therapy program for me that I started to do and benefit from while I was at CNS. Now I’m following a home vision program that she designed. The occupational therapy team evaluated my safety on a ladder, in the kitchen, driving and even using tools. The CNS physical therapist, Emily, helped me understand that I wasn’t losing my balance because of any arthritis or any mechanical reason, but that it was neurological. This is significant to understand because it taught me to be more safe. Emily designed a program for me to get stronger and to become more familiar with how to stay more stable with all the different types of daily movement. She helped me understand what risks to no longer take. I’m in much better shape now and less prone to falling. I used to hike, mountain bike, Rollerblade, but since my TBI I have some limitations. The recreational therapist, Jackson, helped me understand which activities to do and to what extent before my symptoms become problematic for my safety/performance. Anna, my lead speech therapist, helped me understand how my speech has been impacted by my TBI. The entire speech therapy team helped me develop communication skills and they did it in a way that made it manageable and never overwhelming. Martin, the counselor, offered me a lot of strategies that helped me cope with my disability. He was very thoughtful with his approach. My case manager, Alicia, coordinated every detail and worked very closely with all of my therapists. She helped me keep track of all my medical records and appointments. Brain injury can be very confusing to navigate. I highly recommend the program to anyone with any level of brain injury. CNS has changed my life for the better. I’m so grateful that I finally figured out I needed it and had the chance to go.
A family member is currently a patient at CNS and we feel so blessed that he is there. The program is awesome and we have seen a lot of progress. The apartments are clean and well staffed. All the staff member said I have dealt with friendly, helpful and seem to like their jobs. They have been so patient and kind. The center where they have their therapy is a beautiful complex and it has everything that you need to work towards independence. Again the staff is amazing and the patients get 5 days a week of occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and work on coping skills.
