Terrible to have to deal with front desk for a family member. Incompetence is so frustrating!
This would be a zero if I could rate it at that. My Psychiatrist quit. They "assigned" me a new one. I could not even pick someone. They took me off of my meds for sleep and anxiety. I have Insomnia and anxiety. That threw me into a tailspin. I had an appointment however I missed because I never got a reminder and I was up all night long because of my insomnia so I called to get a new date however it will be weeks before I can get in. I called the office to reschedule to get in sooner because my Psychiatrist called me and said there was an opening. I immediately called back and was told I have to pay a $75.00 fee and I still couldn't get in until the time slot I was already told. So now not only do I have to wait with no meds I have to pay an extra $75. And don't get me started on the staff at the Mentor location. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE EVER!!!!!
Tms woman in Beachwood was lovely and professional. Can't say that about anything else. I wanted to see a therapist and was told I had to do a online appt for testing first. So I did. The guys camera was pointed at the ceiling the whole time. All you could see of him was the top of the head and eyes sometimes when he'd readjust. He was unpleasant and maybe even a little judging. Not great for someone searching for counseling. He said I'd get a call about therapist placement. Three months later absolutely nothing. I had to call for three days to finally get someone. They said they've made note that I've been waiting long term and should be able to get an appointment soon, but that they were just really booked up. I looked elsewhere and got an appointment for counseling that same weekend. Obviously I won't be going to Charak for that but I thought it was funny that it's now been almost six months without a single word. Rough.
Psych has been great. Can't reach anyone for shit and when you do (as others have mentioned) front desk is rude as hell and unprofessional. No way to pay online for online appointments so you're left calling in to give your debit details to the same front desk folk. Super uncomfy.
This applies to the Mentor Division: I had to go 1.5 weeks without my Psych. medications because they were not approving the dosage for Express Scripts. (Thankfully I had back stock for 3 days, because of me forgetting to take it.) I have to use a dosage that needs approval for a 3 month supply, because my medication is only covered by my insurance if it is a 3 month supply. I also have to use Express Scripts, to acquire that medication. I kept calling and was told that they were sending my psychiatrist (at the time) the approval for the 3 months. (A month before this, I tried to get the 3 months supply, but never got an approval. So, I had to pay extra and get a 1 month supply. When the 1 month had about a week left, I reached out about the text above.) After 1.5 weeks I contacted Express Scripts, to see if it was an error on their end. They told me that they were never contacted and never received approval. They put me on hold and called Charak, and was told that Charak was still waiting for my doctor to respond. Express Scripts asked me if I wanted to just refill the 1 month at a pharmacy. I told her it was supposed to be a 3 month supply. She told me that the approval that I was waiting for was a 1 month supply, instead of a 3 month. She asked me if I wanted that refill and I said no. I ended up calling my work doctor's office and explained the situation, and got the meds 3 days later. A month later my therapist sent out an immediate action medication switch letter. When I had my appointment I went off on my doctor, turns out he never received any of the emails or documents. (What if he lied to you? Why would he? Why would he let a psych. patient go without meds, that give them the will to live?) I also kept telling them that I had to go to a different Pharmacy, because my insurance didn't cover their personal Pharmacy. So, for the first couple of months, my medications were not refilled until I called them. They never saved the pharmacy and after 3 months my new psychiatrist fixed it. ( My old one wouldn't, she quit.) My "new" psychiatrist was OG. I'm glad he quit and found a better job. As promised, I wrote this review after he left, because I don't think it was his fault.
Sue in Stow is amazing!!!! She has always taken great care of me. I have been coming to the Charak Center for years and I look forward to seeing her bright and helpful face. She has talked me down several times when I was in bad shape. She still helps me when I am not feeling well. Sometimes I would end up end up in the hospital without her talking to me. She amazes me with how she is always doing what seems like everyone else’s job. I always see her doing everything and again am amazed. Charak Center Stow should be so proud of Sue and the work she does!
My son was scheduled for an appointment he is 6 yrs old and I specified it was to be an in person appointment with a psychiatrist NOT VIDEO CHAT. This is his first appointment with any psychiatrist and has been diagnosed with ADHD. The psychiatrist he was supposed to see contacted me tonight and told me he only does zoom meetings thought the office would’ve told me that. I SPECIFIED IT NEEDS TO BE IN PERSON! The office workers clearly don’t listen to you, not to mention when I did call to make appointment the woman was rude and said “does your son’s mom know you are making this appointment?” When its none of her business but yes me and my sons mom were going to take him. But now we will never go here. I’m calling when they open and will tell them even if I have to yell that it was their mistake so the appointment needs to be cancelled. Never seen such unprofessionalism. If I had got there with my son and we only see a video appointment I would’ve flipped out. I’m glad I called off a half day of work for this stupidity. Do yourself a favor and never go to this office.
I can tell that the reviews are mathematically and statistically impossible. I was there these people have no ethnics or professionalism, very dysfunctional & if you have standards they will chase u out!!! I'm the 3rd therapist the unprofessional inappropriate and angry front desk staff have chased out!! these ladies know something? Begged them to ask these ladies to leave me alone but they wouldn't they immediately started attacking me got calls & emails from clinical director the chief officer and HR defending these ladies behavior!!! Ladies must be willing to do things that make it worth protecting their employment even though they post fake appts ?? RUN RUN RUN you see on these reviews that the leadership asked to speak with me about my complaint, I just received a threat from their lawyers stating that theres a complaint about me? for filing a complaint? this is what these people are like !!
Never returned my calls. Ever. Not once. Called 7 times in 2 months.
Will gladly take your money up front make you come in every 2 weeks and have you do urinalysis every time under the guise it's state policy. All to get that sweet copay . Then if you get behind will withhold necessary medications trying to strong arm a full payment of balance out of you. Chronically forget to put medications in before the weekend and close time with their endless sending messages to the nurses. Thank god they fired Heather. Do not bring your mental health concerns here . It's a front to extort every dollar they can from an already struggling working class with no care for your actual care. The front desk at Medina are awesome though .
