Chattanooga Autism Center

BE WARNED: if you are an adult with nearly every symptom of autism but have learned coping mechanisms that allow you to live an almost normal life and not shut down or melt down, as is somewhat common for those on the spectrum, the doctors at Chattanooga Autism Center will refuse to diagnose you as autistic. They will say you just need a therapist and/or medication. Thanks for nothing.

I didn't have a great experience at this facility, but I was just going to let it go, then THIS happened. 🙃 I brought my daughter here for her first appointment. Her second appointment, her father took her. Somehow, he managed to leave without paying, so the front desk lady called me. I'm not trying to cause issues here, but yes, I firmly believe HE should pay. It's literally the least he could do. Anyway, probably a month or two went by, and the front desk lady just called me again. She literally said, "I know that you didn't bring her to that appointment, but she's YOUR child." Wow. Okay. 🫣 Yes, ma'am, she IS my child, but SURPRISE, it takes TWO people to make a child, and the other human that helped me create said child is the one that should be responsible for paying for the appointment that he took her to. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Side note: maybe do your job and actually make your clients pay while they're in the building instead of calling random people, saying STUPID, HATEFUL nonsense, and demanding money. Dear front desk lady, I hope you are embarrassed. You should be. I hope you realize how important your job is, having to speak to people daily with mental health issues, and I hope you find a new job soon ... Away from the public, where your thoughtless, hurtful words can never be heard again. Lastly, I respectfully refuse to pay for the appointment. 😁

In our research, we are impressed with what we are discovering about the Chattanooga Autism Center. As a parent with an autistic child who is now an adult herself, we are impressed with what we are consistently leaning about the CAC mission.

This place is great! It's good to support people with autism in Chattanooga and all over the world! Thank you so much for everything that you do for each and every single one of us, Chattanooga Autism Center. You're awesome, fantastic, spectacular, incredible, terrific, wonderful, outstanding, good, great, amazing, unbelievable, out-of-this-world-awesome, out-of-this-world-amazing, and out-of-this-world-terrific.

Best autism center in the U.S. They really care. My son attended many activities including visits to the art museum. I definitely found their transition program that highlighted what now after high school very informative. Sign up to their mailing list and make a donation if you can or send them a kind note after you join the mailing list. The Marcus Center in Atlanta is a joke compared to CAC. I would never recommend the Marcus Center to anyone. It serves no purpose and its closure would be the best thing that could happen for people on the autism spectrum. CAC is the model to follow.

Both my son and daughter go here. The staff is amazing they’ve helped our families so much with the programs they have there. The people here have been such a blessing, it’s great to go to a place where they really do want to help anyway they can.
