My list of experiences with this place is horrible. The only thing they're good for is the therapy and that's it. There's no cameras in the building so there be no proof to behind your child getting hurt in their care which will happen even if you confront them over and over and over again about how they care for your child. I swear the staff is only there for a paycheck not the actual care of your child. The supervisor will leave before the end of the day anyways. They asked me what they can do I tell them what they can do and they still don't do it. Sadly my son really needs the therapy and needs to be in a place like this and it took us almost a year plus to get him in here but now I feel like I need to get him out and find a better place to take him. I told them over and over again with the amount of accident reports I've gotten that my son's going to seriously get hurt in their care and then whoop-dee-doo it's not like they cared enough to listen and now my son has a broken arm from being in their care.
Embarassing Mod in Among Us
They care more about your insurance information than evaluating your child. I was hounded for 2 weeks about who my insurance was (when I gave the information when I made the appointment) only to show up for my 9am appointment and then to tell me it was at 12:30. I never would have agreed to an appointment at that time because of my work schedule and where I work. I had to take a half day for nothing. They are rude and can’t even seem to figure out their scheduling. Could thing they spent so much time calling me about my insurance when they should have been calling and confirming appointments
We have a special needs Granddaughter that absolutely LOVES the staff, other children and the fun activities. She spends a weekend a month there and always returns home with a huge smile. Staff seem loving, patient and, very good with our Granddaughter. Thank you for what you do and how well you do it.
ChildServe Ames is the BEST! The staff are so caring and knowledgable and great with special needs people. I have been sending my special needs son here for years and he loves it and I trust them completely. Their operations and management are SO MUCH BETTER than the Johnston location where they have limited tolerance which is odd for a special needs organization. I absolutely love the Ames location.
This is a wonderful place! Our kids love it there!
I know the teachers at childserve really care about the kids in their classrooms. However, I feel they have their hands tied getting stuck with children who have behavioral issues out of their control. My almost 4 year old has been bit twice now in the last month by the same child who wanted a toy she was playing with when my daughter refused she got bit. The last time she was bit it was hard enough to draw blood. I was much more understanding of this when she was in the 2-3 year old classrooms. When looking for childcare for our girls outdoor play ranked among our top priorities. Childserve has also been in the midst of playground remodel for the past 9 months, a project that was to be done by the end of the summer. Our kids play in a small snow fenced in area in the front of the building near the parking lot for recess. They are unable to use equipment on the fireflies playground due to age limitations. And now because of the weather they are unable to pour the surface on the play area until spring. One year of playing in make shift play areas. It’s been a disappointing experience for us recently.
Love it, kid has fun while getting what he needs
Great place for kids with special needs. The receptionist up front main building a great. The building is nice and they offer a wide variety of services. From summer camp (held at the Zion church) to dog therapy and respite services. My son attend therapy there for a few years. Most of the therapists were great and he made great strides. The Respite service is in house and decent for the most part. My son didn't care for the institution like atmosphere. Camp is every summer and they do quite a lot of activities. The biggest issue is that the church that they use isn't the cleanest. Otherwise for the two years my son attended, he had a good time. Oh great staff and most also work as staff at the respite center at Childserve.
