Jenni and her team are the best!
Our experience with Jenni at Cielo Behavior was nothing short of amazing. At the recommendation of our daycare we enlisted her help to curtail some behaviors in our 3.5 year old son. We were hesitant at first to involve a therapist but she was so much more than that. She was an advocate for us with the school, a support system, an empathetic listener, and our son loved her visits to his classroom. We worked with Jenni for 2 months and are truly sad our time with her in this capacity has come to an end but so grateful she was able to successfully navigate us and our son through the behavior issues. Throughout our time with Jenni she reminded us that we are good parents, with a good kid, we just needed additional tools. It’s easy to equate “therapy” with “something is wrong” but from the first session she assured us that was not the case. Something we needed to hear. Our home is more peaceful, our children happier, and when tantrums do occur (inevitable with a 2- and 3-year-old) we are more equipped to handle them in an effective way. I have no doubt the skills she taught us, and the encouragement she gave us, will serve us for years to come. If you’re thinking about hiring Jenni and her team, just do it. You’ll have wished you did it sooner. Her plan for us included home and school visits. She sat with us at dinner (taught us some great tips there for wrangling preschoolers at the table), taught us games to play to reinforce positive behavior, spent a ton of time training the teachers so they had the same tools we did, hosted virtual debriefs so we knew what happened at her school visits, and was great at communicating. The whole thing felt like a personal connection and not a business transaction because that’s what it was. She was invested in us as a family and our success. We are forever grateful.
We had a wonderful experience with Jennifer! She helped set us on a better path at both daycare and home to improve my son’s behavior. She was always reliable and communicative throughout the process. She was also flexible with setting up appointments with our daycare provider. I really loved her method and focus on positive reinforcement to build skills that my son was lacking. Thanks again for all you have done to help our family!
We’re so glad to have connected with Jenni and Cielo. When I initially reached out, I was so emotionally and mentally spent, I had delayed contact because I knew it would exhaust me to tell our story all over again and try not to have any expectations of hope with this next attempt at help. After our initial 1:1 conversation, she already knew exactly where she wanted to start with us and offered to come for our most difficult weekly circumstance to confirm her ideas. She immediately dialed in to our child’s thought processes and struggles and created a personalized and detailed plan, with goals, strategies, and relevant educational materials. Our approach was ~80% parent training. My biggest skepticism was: can we as parents attain this? The answer is YES! We worked on communication, social skills, behavior management, and personal responsibility and decision-making, all at a level our child was ready for and we as parents could achieve. Jenni’s compassion, patience, knowledge, and ability to connect with us and our child created a path for success. She served as a conduit and advocate with our child’s teachers when we didn’t know how to communicate our needs or understand how they translated into a classroom environment. We found such utility in her logical, straightforward, and structured approaches that we adapted them to our (older) tween child and eventually asked to increase our services to include consultative parenting strategies for our tween. It was hard to say goodbye to Jenni, but she’s so good at what she does that there came a point - much sooner than we expected - that our collective success propelled us into a phase where our child was well integrated in the classroom and had developed skills for success in the classroom and at home.
