Melissa Roark is a very caring, compassion person who is an absolute joy to be around. She really goes above and beyond to help people and is very detail oriented, energetic and kind. Anyone who meets with her is in very good hands!!

Melissa is a warm, understanding person. I've known her for her excellent conflict resolution, outward concern for her fellow humans, while retaining a little bit of clever whimsy. One of my favorite people to share a charcuterie board with too, even if that doesn't help at work.

Melissa is a wonderful person and genuinely cares about people. She listens, interprets and provides useful caring information. She has been like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I highly recommend her as a person and genuine human being.

I normally wouldn’t leave a review like this, but after my recent experience with the Cincinnati Center for DBT, I feel it’s important to share. I began services here with high hopes and a genuine commitment to my mental health journey. Unfortunately, my first group session was uncomfortable and, frankly, distressing. The environment did not feel safe or supportive, and certain practices—such as using a rubber chicken to “correct” common language—felt more humiliating than therapeutic. I left the session feeling invalidated and triggered, not helped. Afterward, I communicated in writing that I did not wish to continue services and formally requested to withdraw. I made it explicitly clear that they were not permitted to charge my card, and I requested my information be removed from their system. Despite this, I was still charged again without my knowledge or consent for something I was unaware of. To make matters worse, they have completely ignored my emails besides the first one saying they will forward it to leadership. Based on their “4 miss” policy, and the total lack of communication, it appears they intended to charge me $90 a week for four weeks—despite having documentation from me stating I would not be returning and that they were not authorized to continue billing me. I ultimately had to contact my bank to block all future charges and protect myself financially. This level of unresponsiveness and disregard is completely unacceptable—especially from a mental health organization. People seeking DBT are often in a vulnerable place, and to be treated with this kind of negligence and disrespect is not only disappointing, it’s dangerous. If you’re considering therapy through this center, I strongly encourage you to proceed with caution. You deserve care that is compassionate, ethical, and communicative. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
