CommuniKids NY

Two of my children worked with four different speech therapists at CommuniKids. We are so happy that they are now "speech therapy graduates" who can make all their sounds beautifully, but we miss our regular visits. My children loved going to their sessions at CommuniKids. They made incredible progress, but it always felt playful and fun, rather than like hard work. The therapists really knew and cared for my children as individuals, constantly finding new strategies and games that would appeal to their specific interests and goals. CommuniKids was an integral part of my children's development, and we are so grateful for all the help and love they offered my family over the years.

Our family had the pleasure of partnering with Kyle Mutch, one of the fantastic SLPs at CommuniKids. We met Kyle during a vulnerable time for our family and he was was kind, patient, attentive and incredibly knowledgable. Our son took it him immediately. As a parent we knew in selecting an SLP how important it would be for this professional to be a partner to us and that was exactly what Kyle was. When it came time to graduating from speech therapy all of us were sad because we knew we’d miss our weekly visits to the office. Cannot recommend Kyle more!

My daughter saw Rachel and Tammy at CommuniKids to work on feeding and myofunctional therapy. I was skeptical and anxious to begin this process again after some prior experiences that didn't meet our needs, but Rachel and team made a stressful time in our lives so much easier. I was extremely worried about my daughter's nutritional needs and failure to thrive diagnosis. Rachel and Tammy were always able to answer questions, provide resources, and explain things in a way that did not feel overly clinical. They also helped us see that the issues we were facing with our daughter were not as overwhelming as we thought. Rachel was always so supportive of me as a parent and my ability to implement exercises and approaches at home. After several weeks of therapy we ended sessions and my daughter and I continue to use the skills we learned daily. I also made sure we could come back for a "tune up" if needed!! My daughter tried pot roast, tuna salad, and shrimp in the past two weeks--I could not have imagined this several months ago. We have finally seen some weight gain, and, importantly, a better and more fun relationship with food!

Communikids has been essential for our family the past couple of years! Supporting our son’s sensory needs and teaching us how to do the same has improved his quality of life and we’re so grateful. We highly recommend the caring office staff, and extremely knowledgeable therapists.

My daughter has been seeing Rachel for a few years now. She has completely transformed her speech and language/reading comprehension skills. My daughter looks forward to seeing Rachel every week because of the warm and positive environment CommuniKids offers. Our son has been going to CommuniKids several times a week for 2 years, and he still loves it. Kyle has been able to connect with my son and build his speech skills incredibly, all while making the session fun for my son. There office is a happy place - full of happy kids and kind, skilled therapists. I will forever be grateful to CommuniKids for empowering my son to speak clearly and doing so far more quickly than we imagined possible. Their office staff is also very quick to answer questions and help as needed.

My son Ethan started in spring 2022 soon after he turned two. His speech was very behind. By summer 2023, he was understanding and speaking at completely normal levels, and now he's a regular chatterbox. Kyle was such a warm presence in addition to being expert at his profession. My son continues to ask for him whenever we pass near the CommuniKids office. The staff is very responsive, and the space is personal and cozy. I strongly recommend CommuniKids to anyone considering speech therapy for their children.
