Compass ABA Services

My son loves Compass and his behavioral therapists, he's definitely less happy to be home with us "boring" parents on the weekends lol. Im not sure what the other negative review is about, my son doesn't care for shoes either, and they only put his shoes on again at the end of the day to go home. And potty training a non verbal/non-understanding autistic child is the most difficult thing, if the other reviewer could come to my home and train my child (as she claimed was so easy), I would give her ALL of my money! Anyways, Kate has a great team and my son seems to love them all. I understand it can be challenging working with kiddos such as my boy, but they treat him with love and understanding. He's becoming more aware, more focused, and is becoming better at communicating with us. Unless he's been having a rare bad morning at home, he's super happy and smiley when we arrive. It's just the ebb and flow of autism. But we're happy here, and he'll continue with Compass until public school next year!

horrible place! I would never recommend it to anyone. Kate is the owner, BCBA, very manipulative, unprofessional. Under her leadership, kids with autsm are taken advantage of because they are non verbal/unable to express themselves. My daughter came home with a cut on her ear, Kate was trying to pass it as a rash. Clear brusing and bleeding with scabbing noted. When asking her to explain what happened, her response was she did not know. My daughter is also on two anti-histamins per day, on gluten, dairy, egg soy free diet. No possiblity of a rash. Kate's skills as an ABA provider are very poor. My daughter did not want to wear shoes, she was there for over 6 weeks, refusing to wear shoes. When I worked my daughter for 48 hours at home over the weekend, she came in on Monday morning wearing shoes, and maintained wearing them the whole day. I am not sure what techniques she uses, but she is very unsuccesful. Also, she does not know how to potty train kids. Again, did it myself at home. A complete disaster of a place, only looking for billing patients insurance but even then unable to keep them safe.
