Comprehensive Therapy Center

My daughter got cancelled on multiple times from her speech therapist on the day of when we were on our way to her appointment. Then after the summer they put her with a different speech therapist and kept switching up therapists because people either quit or get fired. And then the receptionist lied and came back later and said your right .Not helpful when your child needs consistency .The only good thing about her appointments was her OT which were consistent and super helpful.

I honestly jumped at the chance to volunteer not because I wanted to do something good, but because my work would let me leave after a half day and get paid to go and help. Then I walked in and met some of the staff there. I couldn't have been more humbled, grateful, and appreciative of the opportunity, once I arrived and realized we were scrapbooking using pictures of some of the kids taken during activities with their mentors and educators, which would be shown to families as colorful and celebratory examples of the kind of care and attention their children are receiving at this learning/therapy center. Each of us volunteers were showered with kindness from the staff, a wealth of scrapbooking supplies, snacks, and motivation to dive in and get creative. Each scrapbook page we individually worked on was as different and colorful as the faces of the children in the pictures. It was an honor to help tell stories through decorating, cutting, and pasting, of the magic that happens here and capture the expressions of kids at play. A picture is said to be worth a thousand words, and we had so many heart-stirring photographs to work with. I hope we did them some justice. Truly, I got more out of this then any of the staff will know and I hope to help in any way I can in the future. I had no idea just of the meaningful and varied work that United Way does every day in so many children's lives. They told us that at their particular chapter (?) they reach out to and include about 700 kids a month in various creative and playful activities and games to help them let out their energy, make meaningful bonds with other children and staff, and develop essential communication skills. Absolutely a joyous experience. Thank you to all of the staff, especially Jonathan, whose charisma and warmth was particularly inspiring.

The staff are so wonderful and caring!!! You can see and feel the passion they have for thier mission.

This was my first time volunteering for this amazing organization and I absolutely loved it! I know we volunteered to help the kids, but actually they helped me. Thank you so much for having me.
