Connections SLP

Connections has helped me so much with all three of my kids over the past 5 years. My babies have all entered this world as great breast feeders til about the 3 week mark. Their latch starts clicking, their feeds get shorter, and I get stressed. I’m so thankful I found Missy, who has welcomed me with open arms each time and takes me under her wing with no judgment. Many appointments I showed up near tears and ready to succumb to pumping and bottle feeding but Missy always gently puts me back on track and reminds me to take one feed at a time and understand the little bumps in the road are expected with babies. It might not feel like a lot, but her oral exercises she assigns are magical. If you follow her protocol I promise you- it WILL work. She’s such an advocate for body work in combination with feeding therapy and it’s really changed the way I view our babies bodies. Missy will assign you small simple doable steps to do daily after each appt and was always respectful of allowing me to make my own decision regarding tongue or oral tie revisions. In my case, I opted to do the revisions with my children along side her step by step therapy and body work, and my babies have all thrived. Aside from breastfeeding and oral ties, I’ve received so many tips on introducing solids, teethers to wake up mouth muscles, massages to help tight muscles, how to get babies to drink from straw cups etc. And if you need a success story, my daughter who came to Missy unable to suck on a binky or bottle and who’s latch was extremely uncoordinated, following Missy’s guidance, she is still nursing at 2 years old! I can’t recommend Connections enough. Thank you Missy!

Our baby struggled with feeding from day one. We saw several different professionals before we found Missy, who all just told us to keep trying to feed her. Meanwhile, she was dropping weight percentiles like a stone. In our very first meeting, Missy figured out exactly what was going on and gave us some exercises to address the problem. Our little baby started to improve right away! She's back up her birth percentile now and we're working on introducing solid foods. I don't know what we would have done without Missy!

We have loved seeing Missy for speech therapy! Our daughter has made huge strides and we are learning a lot as a family about how to best support her through her learning!

Dallas is fantastic. My 4 year old is autistic and she is very patient, kind and clearly enjoys working with kids on the spectrum. His speech has come so far with all of the helpful tips she has given.

Connections has been a game changer for our family. Our baby was struggling with eating and gaining weight. We were exhausted and at our rope’s end when we were referred here. Within just a visit or two we started to see such a difference in his eating ability and overall demeanor. Now we’re a few months into feeding therapy and physical therapy and just WOW the difference it has made! He’s gaining weight like a champ, eating at a much more productive pace and not getting feed fatigue. Cannot recommend them enough. I feel so lucky to go here and receive support from such passionate people.

My son is on the spectrum and has some behavioural issues when it comes to learning and this is mostly due to frustration. This service offered to my son is unhelpful because the facilitator has no patience and is more equipped for neurotypical children with speech issues. We’ve found private is more helpful and there’s more thought and compassion that goes into children on the spectrum. Community based after school is also more helpful than this service.

Years ago this place was wonderful, this is not my family's experience in 2023 and 2024.

We love Connections and especially Missy!! We have our special time to go weekly and when a kid is sick, we are able to do tele-speech which is wonderful!
