This is the first place that has worked for me. I love Cati and Justine- both genuine and funny. They teach you skills and explain the physiology to recognize emotions and change your response to those emotions. Don't be afraid of group- it's more of a classroom lesson.
I cannot recommend working with Kristen Fritsinger enough. She is an excellent clinician, and her expertise is impressive. DBT can be difficult and she does an excellent job meeting you where you are at.
I’ve been working with Matt and he is excellent all around! Matt creates a very comfortable space because he has a great sense of humor while also being nonjudgmental and very empathetic. It’s clear that he’s dedicated to his own continuous growth and puts a lot of heart into his work. Of the therapists I’ve had, he has made me feel the most understood, and his insight has really made a difference for me.
I am very grateful to have found this place. Matt is compassionate, patient, and genuine. I can be completely vulnerable with him and feel safe and validated, and I’ve never really experienced that before. It’s been mentally and emotionally liberating, and I no longer feel like I have to bear my burdens alone. He doesn’t just show you the path, he walks it with you. Cati and Justine are a dream team in the skills group. Their chemistry is perfect, and they both have their own unique ways of making concepts click. I appreciate their pragmatic style, and they are both so relatable. I hope they continue teaching skills group together, because I wouldn’t want it any other way. If you are on the fence about this place, I encourage you to give it a shot. It took me a year to work up the courage to call them, and I’m so glad that I did. They are wonderful, caring people.
If you are looking for a DBT or RO DBT program, look no further. Their owner, Kristen Fritsinger, is one of the most compassionate and educated clinicians I have ever encountered. She has been supporting our RO DBT team by providing consultation to us for the past two years, sharing her knowledge and passion for RODBT. Our team is so grateful to have the opportunity to consult with such an incredible team of clinicians.
DBT Associates is outstanding!! Matt Elfmann is the most caring therapist I have ever met. My son has been seeing therapists off and on since he was 11. He is now 19. My son's first meeting with Matt was the first time my son has ever felt he was listened to. He walked out of that appointment with a smile on his face. Matt has been there for my son by phone and by text day or night, evenings and weekends, helping him through some tough moments. I have never seen a therapist be there for my son like Matt has been. My son was recently hospitalized and Matt checked up on him everyday. He also asked how we were doing. It didn't matter if it was the evening or a Saturday or Sunday. He was there for us and for our son. He opened up appointments so my son could see him the next day after he was out of the hospital and arranged another appointment for that week because they had more to talk about. Matt goes above and beyond as a therapist. I have never encountered a more dedicated, professional, therapist in my life. I would recommend Matt to anyone who is looking for a caring and compassionate therapist. Your life will change for the better if Matt is a part of it.
