Discovery Therapies made an incredible difference with my son, especially in spelling and handwriting. It is a big commitment but so very worth it. I am so glad we used them, and I recommend them to my friends who have children who are stuggling academically.

Discovery Therapies is top notch if your child struggles in school! After a year and a half my son has grown exponentially. The communication between the faculty and parents is great and they help you understand all aspects of your child’s learning weaknesses and strengths. Highly recommend this place!!

We spent one full year diligently participating and I am blown away by the insightful counseling and purposeful exercises our therapist gave us. Our therapist was patient, cheerful, diligent and professional. One intriguing thing is that the therapy teaches the kids how to think, which is similar in philosophy to classical education’s intent of teaching kids how to think. Rather than spitting out a grade, a good teacher or therapist should prompt the student to evaluate their own work or processing and guide them to better self-evaluating so the student is prepared to take charge of their own education. It may be a while before our son acknowledges the benefits, as the therapy hits on all the things most distasteful to these kiddos. But I am thankful for our year and how much I as a parent learned about my smart but struggling son.

Discovery Therapies deserves the highest praise for the service they provide to families. My daughter has an auditory processing disorder that was noticed by her Kindergarten teacher. We had her tested at Discovery Therapies and started therapy with them shortly after. The change in her quality of work was remarkable! She went from having no confidence because of her learning difficulties to being able to whiz through most of her language and math activities. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff and therapists are super nurturing and caring as well as professional. Very worth the money.

Discovery Therapies has helped my daughter tremendously! Her therapist, Ms. Debbie has been wonderful! She has taken the time to develop a connection with my daughter which has motivated her to want to learn even more. I am amazed at the growth I have seen in my daughter in just a few months of therapy!!! We are so thankful to find such a professional, loving, high quality learning environment for our daughter, who has struggled to learn for years!

Discovery Therapy provided answers and a game plan to help my son who has struggled with not just academic issues, but gross and fine motor issues as well. Donna Weston is a tremendous resource for families needing resources and hope. Every therapist we encountered was highly educated and knowledgeable about brain development and specific interventions to assist with improved learning ability, social interaction, and overall quality of life issues. If you have a child that is struggling, you will not be disappointed with Discovery Therapy. It is worth every penny.

Discovery Therapies greatly helped our son with his specific learning disability in reading. Annually, we received the information needed on where his deficiencies were present, and how to help him grow in those targeted areas. Their staff partnered with him to help him gain confidence and abilities over several years of sessions. We began in-person, but transitioned to virtual sessions online when we moved from SC to VA. Our son received straight A’s last year in 6th grade, and he proudly says he would not be where he is today without Donna’s team.
