Dogwood Autism Services provides top-notch therapy for children with autism. They train their team so well and truly care about their clients. Thank you for all your team does.
My son recently started and boy he loves it here! I was scared at first because it was new to both of us . His RBT Jamara is very nice and he opens up with joy in the morning when he sees her. I’m already noticing improvement with my son when we’re out in public. I would recommend this place to anyone.
My son has attended Dogwood Autism Services at 3 different locations. He started on Roswell Rd. Then they opened a temporary location in College Park until the EastPoint location was being complete. He has been at the EastPoint location since it opened in 2022 and he has been completely safe!!! The technicians are caring and the facility is clean and well maintained from my observation. It has been a blessing to have Dogwood local and able to help us with our son. He is developing at a decent pace. We would like it if he learned more, faster but each child is different and the best of therapy may not be appropriate for some children some need more love and more time not just more therapy. Dogwood has been a good partner for us. We appreciate this center tremendously!
We were very excited to find that Dogwood expanded into our area. That excitement quickly disappeared when we realized that they knew nothing about the community or the culture. Yet another business seeking to capitalize off of gentrification. Despite knowing the crime rate, they have failed to take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of the children in their care. Much to my dismay, and even though I read as much in the reviews, the regional director was very dismissive of our concerns and wrote a treatment plan that made it clear that they were not child focused, but rather money focused. The treatment plan created was very cookie cutter despite the BCBA lamenting how many hours she spent crafting the plan that clearly went against everything we said we did not want. The facilities itself were very dingy albeit being a ‘newly renovated’ building. We would not recommend this place to anyone who has options. We realize that there are families with no options and so to that we say, do what you have to do while understanding the risks involved. We did not want to drop off a child and pick up a corpse. Non-verbal children are at a greater risk of abuse and this facility offered no audio or visual supports in case an incident would happen so it’s their words against yours.
Our family was with Dogwood for years, and I cannot say enough about how amazing the therapists are! The owner is an incredible lady who was one of our best therapists ever, so when she started Dogwood, she took great pains to hire compassionate, talented, dedicated team that cared as much as she did. Through the years we had multiple BCBAs and RBTs who worked with our daughter and they were each just so amazing! I highly highly recommend them to other families looking for an outstanding ABA provider!
Pros: They have great therapists and they care for the well being of your child. I only have positive things to say for the people we’ve worked with from admins to the therapists themselves. You will see progress and improvement in your child with ABA therapy. As for the cons… Scheduling needs work. Substitutes are limited and last minute changes all too frequent. Life happens—car accidents, family emergencies, COVID—however, this does not get communicated until last minute, day of, many times, and they don’t have enough staff to be able to cover for these instances. For some perspective, I quit my job to be available for my child with Autism, and have an infant at home. Even with this flexibility, the untimeliness of notices that our therapist will be unavailable that day has become difficult to manage. No call, just an email to let us know which we don’t have time to check when you’ve got to get the kiddo ready for school/therapy. I can’t imagine for parents that both work and have multiple kids at home. All in all, great staff, albeit with limited coverage in subs. BUT please reconsider if you have one default parent and have a demanding job with little at-home support. We will continue to make it work because we have seen so much progress with our son but this school is not for everyone especially if you have a lot to things to juggle in your life.
My son and our family needed help and this review was in no way solicited. I am posting because I am so very happy and can't say enough great things about the services we receive from Dogwood Autism! We have been through other companies and the loving care that my son receives from Dogwood I unparalleled. My son has made progress by leaps and bounds in a short period of time, and our care is very personalized for him. Our BCBA has become a respected part of our family and I honestly don't know what I would do without her advice and training. There are many companies offering ABA services out there and it's hard to know who to pick. I have been nothing but happy with Dogwood and will continue with them throughout our Autism journey.
Amazing ABA staff that goes above and beyond to take care of your little one. They are passionate about what they do and it shows! I would recommend their services to anyone needing ABA services.
