My son was in OT here for a few months before we had to pull him due to no longer being able to make the appointment time work because of school. We loved our therapist so no complaints there, but in my opinion everything else was lacking. Communication was not the best and the front desk is more often than not rude. I was never informed of a change of OT directors, so I sent multiple emails that got kicked back to me because I was trying to contact someone who was no longer employed here. The info email also never responded to me when I reached out with questions. No one ever mentioned or took our copay, so I was unaware that we even owed them money until we had several weeks worth of copays racked up. Going forward we would have to literally make them take our copay. They also dropped the ball on insurance and let us run out of approved appointments and did not inform us until after we arrived, so we had to pay out of pocket for multiple sessions because we would’ve been charged a cancellation fee if we had decided to leave. The front desk also had an awful attitude when we asked for a second school excuse because our school office told us they could not accept the one we had previously received. We were originally told that they would not give us a second one but after we told them we were being threatened with truancy, she gave us a second one and informed my husband that “he better not lose that one” because she “would not be able to help him again.”
My son gets OT here, his Therapist is amazing, and my son has made so much progress working with her. I recently called in to see if I could switch his therapy day to possibly Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday due to me being pregnant and not being able to lift him or his wheelchair without causing a strain on me. Also those are his dad's only off days to be able to accommodate him to his therapy appointment. I was told by Tanesha that they didn't have anything and that he would get discharged for not showing up or have to go back on the wait-list. I don't know if what she was saying is true or because she always has an attitude with me in person or over the phone. Oftentimes, I would get my son ready, bring him to therapy, and she would say, "Oh his therapist is out today, I tried calling you." Although I never received the call, email or voicemail stating that. It's pretty much out of my hands now I tried to do what is in the best interest of my child. However, I do understand that lack of vacant slots. I just hate for him to go back on the wait-list and loose out on the services with a wonderful therapist.🙁
I’ve been waiting nearly three months to get my child enrolled in speech therapy (with a pediatrician’s referral) and every time I call or come in to ask questions or check the waitlist status, the front desk speaks to me with a short, dismissive tone as if I’m inconveniencing them just for trying to get help and resources for my child. It’s honestly very jarring and discouraging, especially for a place that advertises supporting children and I’m simply trying to understand what’s going on.
The staff lacks professionalism and communication skills.
Absolutely love this place and my son enjoys it as well. The staff members are all so friendly and welcoming. I look forward to all the progress my son will make here.
My son was discharged from the program without any warning or insight. Just stated he is too much we will try again later. Never seen any improvement as far as his speech and I was never given any feedback or update on his therapy sessions. I only heard from them when they discharged him.
April 2024 You get new information every time you come. Now my child has been moved back to the speech waitlist no other choice after learning that he can’t receive speech like he has weekly in the past and now they want to charge an arm and a whole body who in the hell will pay that much for services weekly and he got insurance and now the copay has changed too. The therapists are great it’s that front office you need to watch. Not happy at all. Maybe it’s for the best to look elsewhere. Nov 2023 if your child get sick often, beware of the attendance policy…you will get kicked out. 🙄 oh well Update May 2023 so the attendance rule is a little on the “darn if you do, darn if you don’t.” Otherwise awesome facility and I still see the progression in my son. Update April 2023 Recently started speech therapy 🙌🏽 Going good so far for OT. I would just love for my son to get to speech therapy there as well. Currently on a wait list for it.
We have been going here for OT once a week for over 4 months now and we love it so much! The facility is extremely clean and the staff is wonderful. Our child has made so much progress working with her therapist they have helped her so much ❤️
Tanesha was amazing!! She helped me so much with getting an appointment for my son because I’d been waiting a long time to receive a call from them to have him seen and she was able to help me get him in a lot faster. She was kind and patient. I’m so glad I decided to call the day I did and was able to speak with her as opposed to other people I talked to in the past that wasn’t much help there. Looking forward to seeing how they would be able to help my son.
