Extremely disappointed in Eastside Center for Healing especially Laura Halford for how they handled my children’s care and legal boundaries. Despite our court-ordered parenting plan clearly stating that therapy records “shall not be released without court order,” Laura chose to ignore that and released confidential records without my consent and without a court order. When I raised the issue, she dismissed the legal language and attempted to reinterpret the order — despite not being an attorney. This is a serious breach of both legal and ethical responsibilities, and one that undermines trust in their entire practice. Additionally, throughout my family’s time working with Eastside, their policies have been inconsistent, unclear, and seemingly adjusted on the fly depending on what is most convenient or beneficial for them in the moment. What they tell you one week may change the next — with no real explanation or accountability. To be clear, other clinics have properly followed the parenting plan and refused to release therapy records for this exact reason. Eastside made a reckless decision based on bad judgment and pressure from outside parties, and now the damage is done. If you’re a parent navigating custody or legal matters, I strongly recommend finding a provider that respects court orders, honors confidentiality, and doesn’t rewrite policies to suit their needs. – Patrick

Laura is hands down one of, if not the best marital counselors I have met. She met me right where I was at, asked the tough questions of us both to get to the root of challenges. Her straightforward, no BS approach is awesome and effective. Laura has a great capacity for empathy when needed, patience where indicated and a vast knowledge of modalities. Highly recommend Laura!!! Our marriage was very much on the line and had tried many options, until finding her. Plus she is a heck of a lot of fun to talk to!!!

I operate a resource program for first responders and have used Laura Halford and other counselors at Eastside Center For Family numerous times with excellent results. Laura and her staff are highly qualified to handle advanced emotional needs with ultimate care and competence. I have read recent reviews regarding billing and can say that I have not had or heard of any related issues from the countless clients I have referred; and trust me, I would have heard if there were issues. Insurance billing can be a confusing enterprise, and in my experience, most clinicians can only try to be helpful with the process. The insurance companies are usually the bottleneck in the process, which can be annoying. I highly recommend Laura and her staff for any of your mental health, including telehealth, needs.
