These clinicians are extremely trauma informed and culturally competent. I feel no judgement when speaking with them. The level of care I’ve received here is amazing and I wish I knew about Eliot sooner.
Rafael is a cruel person who should not be in the mental health business. One run in with him and I ended up in a psych ward for 2 weeks and not cuz he put me there. I realized no one cares so i teied to get help and was told go home so then i had a suicide attempt. I attempted to contact the person above him. Left a very detailed message. No return call. So these people can harm you speak to you any way they feel like and have no repercussions. I have a lawyer. I think its time we actually gollow thru with suing you people
It is actually insane how abysmal their psychiatrist/med management services are here. EDIT 9/19/25: LMAOOOO once again they’re dragging their feet and have just an utter lack of urgency filling my meds. Multiple times I have missed doses because they do not know how to do their damn jobs. I will continue being a pain in the ass until they improve. Every single time filling my medications, there is an issue. Every single time. One time they told me they simply didn’t feel like filling my Vitamin D meds because “you can just get it over the counter 🙄”. Today, they called me a liar, said I had refills left for my prazosin (I take both 1mg and 2mg. The 2mg hasn’t been refilled for a month) and then said because I didn’t have a provider, I’d be getting only two weeks (or even just seven days) of my meds. The lady at the front desk was so insanely unempathetic. When I asked to speak to someone else, she outright said no, screamed at me, and then transferred me to some random extension. You know why I don’t have a provider? It’s because Elliot has such a high turnover rate for psychiatrists that all of them usually quit in a few months. They then will sit there, twiddling their thumbs, and take MONTHS, or even a year to replace them. Their medication management services are genuinely some of the worst I’ve seen. I have CPTSD. If I do not take my prazosin, I will have panic attacks in my sleep and night terrors. They have no empathy at all and give you attitude over the phone for being understandably upset at them constantly playing games with your medication. Their therapy services are fine. But I think I will be switching to a different provider for med management. Actually insane how bad it is here.
It's a long road to feeling better about yourself, but it can be done. You just have to put in the work. Eliot offers a class (DBT) That is run by Tetriana and is nothing like it in Massachusetts. I was in a bad place 18 months ago and this class changed me. I give much respect to the following people. For most , Tetriana , Jordan, Braxton , Dee, Leah and Cookie. These people go the extra mile to help you Become the person you so want to be.
Horrible service!!! They make you appointments and you wait hours to be seen. They make phone appointments, they don’t call! THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE!!!!
DO NOT COME HERE IF TRANS my wife and I (bot mtf) were misgendered and my wife was not being called by HER LEGAL NAME my evaluation was treated like some test was not a welcoming or helping experience
Worst mental health services I have ever gotten in my life. Do not go here unless you wanna get worse to the point you wanna end everything. I have gotten worse from being here. They provide medication that should be checked every two weeks. Did not get a single call back and these medications can cause psychosis if not used right. I will never ever go here again. They should be shut down and never provide services again. As someone who has been here since I was 13 and have not improved as I’m now 22. I would like a huge apology from the whole staff for failing me.
The crisis response here is abysmal. If you're experiencing negative side effects, you can't call and talk to a provider about your concerns. The receptionists role their eyes at you over the phone. After called over and over for 3 business days, I finally got a call back from a provider who "booked" me an appointment with our provider, but that provider never showed up. The agency is the pits and I would highly recommend not bothering with them at all. Update: Eliot Center has put my son's life in danger multiple times and we're desperately trying to leave this agency. I will be reporting them to the licensing board as I feel strongly they are not operating safely. I have been talked down to by receptionists, had to call over and over to have meds filled, had to get emergency prescriptions filled because they ignore my calls for refills, and had my son end up in the hospital because the on call nurse wouldn't return our phone call. Our practitioners have been lovely, but they're clearly overworked and burdened by the general chaos of the agency. They need a complete organizational overhaul in order to treat patients safely.
My experience at Eliot was interesting. I was a ccs bed, and I’ve never been to one before. When I was evaluated I was sent home for the night and told to come back in the morning. When I started my intake the nurse was asking me if I have ever done substances in the past and I said yes. I have a dxm addiction so I told her I did cough medicine. She laughed. Later that day she asked to see the wounds I inflicted on myself and when she saw my legs she laughed and said “what do you not have another coping skill? Jesus” so long story short if ur sad or angry don’t ask for their help. Unless you wanna get laughed at because your problems aren’t “standard”
