It's a humbling experience going to the food bank to see ordinary people who are doing the best they can in today's economic society, which work hard to make ends meet. These people set the example by feeding the hungry, elderly, and children. Jesus fed 5000 people with 2 fish and 5 pieces of barley bread. Jesus took the food, giving thanks and God the Glory which multiplied that feed them. As a shopper, I'm seeing grocery prices skyrocket, which is disheartening. As a Christian, I believe Jesus himself would be humbled!

My wife and I have had to utilize the EFB services. The ladies at the window are respectful, understanding, and professional. One guy at the back was so rude, my wife confronted him about his behavior right then. He brought me to tears. I have corrected the opening/closing times. They are open on Monday nights briefly. Suggestion: call to confirm hours, needed documents, take home bags, etc. Great community resource in Salina!

Wait time is short and efficient. Don't ask a lot of questions anymore and always make sure you have plenty of food for the week. Just don't like the idea of having to stand in line outside now. Especially when it's cold and you have a disability like I do

Was our first time needing the help of the EAFB, the process of waiting was done by the taking of a number and waiting for your turn. The staff were most helpful and very friendly. Have had experiences with a different food bank from another community years ago and this was much improved. If I had to have 1 negative look at the situation it would have been the others in need. Granted i don't know their situation (this particular business allows you to come once every 7 days as needed) having said that, there were some of those there needing help who really OBVIOUSLY abused the situation. They would take their items to their cars and return to wait for produce to come out to the lobby in regular intervals. But there were sadly those who really really seemed to be OVER INDULGING in something that I feel should be equally shared based on need and not how many times you can go back in and load up your arms and plastic bags with extra produce items (some items only came out once or twice in the time we were there). But 10 out of 10 for staff and location. And if seeing the other doesn't bother you much then I think you will do great. If seeing people take advantage of a community service in need such as this bothers you, then like me you might find yourself wanting to give someone a good lesson in their need to remember there are others with needs just like they. And some of them really need the food that you watch them glutton away.
