I've been seeing Dr. Schnose for over a year. He has "comfy college professor" vibes, if I had to come up with a three-word descriptor. He is insightful and fond of using stories, music and historical analogies to accompany his responses and observations. I have trouble speaking when upset or agitated, and Dr. Schnose is very understanding of this and gives me the time I need to formulate my thoughts. On the off-chance that this might be relevant, I feel pretty confident in saying that Dr. Schnose is friendly to plus-sized people; I've not had it brought up in a way that is intended to shame or induce guilt. Part of my earlier hesitation to starting therapy was that I worried about having yet another source of finger-waggling over my weight, but thankfully that was not the case. A major detail that isn't telegraphed in searches or though the website: while a physical address is listed, this actually is a remote-only provider. Specifically, therapy sessions are conducted through video chat via the Thera-Link portal. You will need either a smartphone/tablet that can do video, or access to a computer with a webcam. From what I was told when making the first appointment, the switch to remote-only happened at the beginning of the pandemic and in-person hasn't been offered since.

Dr. Mark Schnose is an awesome psychologist and i say that as a young person who has struggled to find my way and the right doctor for some time now. His approach is genuine and he is a true standout amid other psychologists in the best way possible. Keep up the great work!!!
