Empower Speech Therapy

We are so happy to have found McKenzie to help our child with their speech! She has a wonderful way of interacting with the kids and making them feel comfortable. We have seen a huge improvement in our child’s speech and confidence since starting classes. We also love that she’s the only provider at her clinic so our child was able to build a trusting relationship with her quickly. We highly recommend her if you’re looking for a knowledgeable and kind speech therapist for your child.

We had a wonderful experience with McKenzie while addressing our daughter’s tongue placement/palate issue. She is incredibly kind, great with kids, and makes each session fun and engaging. My daughter actually looked forward to her appointments, which made such a difference. Highly recommend!

We've had a wonderful experience at Empower Speech Therapy. They are patient, knowledgeable and make therapy engaging and positive for kids. Communication is excellent, and we always feel supported. They have helped us through infant/toddler feeding / swallowing issues; transitioning to using an AAC device at home/school; and general age appropriate articulation. Not just supporting the child, but giving us parents tools and resources to work on at home. Highly recommend!!

We brought our son to Empower Speech Therapy and it has been a great experience. Mckenzie is very knowledgeable and has a lot of tools that have helped our son gain confidence in using his voice. McKenzie is incredible. She is warm, patient, and incredibly skilled at making speech therapy both fun and effective. My child looks forward to every visit and has made incredible progress thanks to her guidance. McKenzie thoughtfully and carefully creates a care plan that works for my child based on his interests and home life and teaches me how to best support my child’s speech outside of her office. She celebrates the smallest changes or improvements like massive wins. Her office is always clean, well-organized, and filled with engaging activities that make learning feel like play. It’s clear she puts a lot of thought into creating a welcoming and comfortable space for her patients. I cannot recommend McKenzie enough.

My 16-year-old son has speech sessions at Empower Speech. From the very beginning, Mckenzie has shown an incredible ability to identify exactly what Mac needs to work on, making every session purposeful and productive. Her expertise and personalized approach ensure that their time together is used to its fullest potential. What stands out most to me is my son's attitude, he never complains about going, and he consistently leaves each session in a great mood. It’s clear that he feels supported, challenged, and encouraged in a way that makes the process enjoyable rather than stressful. As a parent, seeing him look forward to these sessions is incredibly rewarding. We are so grateful to have found Empower Speech. The progress he has made, combined with the positive environment Mckenzie creates, has exceeded our expectations. We switched to McKenzie after years of speech therapy elsewhere. She has helped my daughter have confidence and correct her speech. She plays games, is patient and kind. She adapts to the needs of your kid and provides teaching exercises that fit your child! She has been very pleasant to work with and my daughter enjoys going!

My daughter has a bit of a complex medical history - McKenzie has been with us since the beginning of the ride and has always been super helpful when it comes to techniques to practice at home. My daughter has made a lot of improvement with the sounds she is able to make, new words and social engagement. She also enjoys going to speech therapy with how warm, friendly and fun McKenzie’s approach is!

We love Empower Speech Therapy! We have been going for over a year and my daughter is making great progress. McKenzie uses play to strategically teach speech skills. She is warm and thoughtful, adjusting her methods to meet my daughter's needs and answering all our questions. 10/10, would recommend!

Empower Speech Therapy is a warm inviting space and Dr. McKenzie is kind and positive. My child is hesitant with new people, but was immediately comfortable with her, willing to speak to her and even willing to give her a high five (for them that's a big deal). Over the course of a short period of time she helped them go from acting like they had a tongue tie and forming sounds incorrectly, to having full range of motion with their tongue and being able to make correct sounds and distinguish hearing them. With her guidance they stop gagging while eating, stopped gagging while brushing their teeth, and learned how best to use their tongue while chewing food. They have become more confident in their daily conversation, and all because they get to (yes they looks forward to it) visit Dr. McKenzie to "practice sounds and play".
