Encopresis Treatment Center

I'm so incredibly grateful for the care we've received for my daughter from the Encopresis Treatment Center, and I can't recommend them enough. They deeply care. Nurse Nancy takes so much time to teach you, support you, and make you your child's best medical advocate. A review here complained about how Winnie treated them. Let me paint a clear picture why that might have happened. Winnie does all of the admin, answers the phone and emails, communicates with doctor's offices, deals with insurance, troubleshoots technology issues, and so much more. She is the office manager, and there is no one else. She literally can't stay on the phone for ages because she is doing the job of at least 4-6 people. Nurse Nancy spends a FULL hour each appointment to get details on progress, goes over stool charts and stool photos, asks about diet, stress, exercise, and school supports. She takes the time to get to know you and she's incredibly supportive. She's the only provider in the clinic, and she's doing the job of 2-3 providers. They used to be a part of Seattle Children's Hospital, and when funding was cut years ago, the Encopresis clinic was cut from the hospital. These women care deeply. I highly recommend them if your child has unresolved constipation that no doctor seems to be able to help you with.

I highly recommend nurse, Nancy. We wasted so much time with our naturopathic doctor, who we loved, and allegro pediatrics. However, none of them fully understood the severity of long-term constipation and what damage it can cause. Nurse Nancy has an intense, but successful protocol to ensure that your child is heading is in the right direction. She is hands-down the expert in this field. She takes time to educate the parents of what actually happened, and how long it can take for the intestines to regain their normal elasticities. I highly recommend nurse, Nancy, and would recommend to anyone to not waste time on anybody else.

Full disclosure we are not patients and looks like we never will be since we sadly discovered that this facility is outside of our network but it broke my heart to be hung up on while I was still asking questions with the office staff. Our pediatrician referred us along with giving them a glowing review of the work they do with kids. $290 for an eval and $210 for a 45-minute tele-therapy appointment. While asking what the recommended frequency for visits is so that I could add up what a monthly cash cost would be (since there's basically no one else out there that can help us it feels like) Winnie interrupted me and said "I'm being called into the other room. I have to hang up. Good luck." and actually did hang up on me without even waiting for my response. We have been struggling to find help for our kiddo and I was mentally sorting through my options while asking her these questions about out of pocket costs, so to be abruptly hung up on was an absolute gut punch. Just a tiny ounce of compassion or willingness to answer my last question or two would have been appreciated but now I'm back to square one looking for help for my child while being left in tears over everything. (For reference, we are Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, which this center does not accept).
